that would be awesome... just 2 player coop would be fine!
no thanks. forcing multiplayer is what killed Mass Effect and Dragon AGe for me.
What's the deal with all these people going around Steam and asking for multiplayer to be added to literally every single-player game in Steam?:steamfacepalm:
I honestly wouldn't mind coop in TOW2, however it is "nice to have", not "needed".

I don't know. I don't see it much the other way, which is surprising. Are people not getting their multiplayer fix elsewhere?

Here's a list of all the single-player games on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/search/?tags=4182&os=win&supportedlang=english&ndl=1

Every single one of these just click on it -> Go to that game's community section -> discussions -> search threads for "multiplayer" (without quotes) and you will find a thread where someone asked it to be added to the game. Literally every single single-player game on steam has at least 1 thread where someone asked for multiplayer to be added. And now we have a thread in this game's forums too. :steamfacepalm:

idk maybe people just like to play with their friends and can see how a gaming experience in a beloved franchise would be something fantastic to share especially when the game play involves group play anyway (though with AI instead of people)

that said no one here said "force it" or "needs it" I literally said it would be nice

and there is a market for this also look at the multiplayer mods in all the elder scrolls game for example

Multiplayer is not needed in a single-player game. There are more than enough multiplayer games to play.

your already running around with companions in this game, why can't one be a real person instead of an NPC?
does that take away from anything? no?
Sorry if I have friends I like to play with, and want to share experiences with, instead of NPCs. it doesn't make my point any less valid, no one here is asking for it to be a MMO. Anyway its not likely to happen unfortunately anyway, but it would make be nice

If you want to play multiplayer games with your friends then go play a multiplayer game.

Asking the developers to completely change their single player game to add multiplayer just isn't going to happen, no matter how many times people ask for it. This will always and forever be a single player only game. Just like the original was single player as well.

maybe be so but, then again maybe it's something they might think about as an option. Does it hurt to suggest something? Does it harm anyone to put an idea out there? Besides like i mentioned before there is a market for this, look at "Skyrim" for example there has been a multiplayer mod for each of the 13+ releases for it. Same with other properties before said game in the same type of genre. And also as I originally states "I'm not going to hold my breath" as in I have very, very large doubts It will ever happen.

The way people act on here is like i'm saying they should turn into a completely different genre and scrap the aesthetic theme or something.

Adding a option to have a co-op mode, would not be the end of thew world. Same story, same story beats, just let one player choose the dialog options, and the co-op player to make suggestions at best and limit it to one co-op or 2 NPCs. The game already saves locally so make it a P2P connection or LAN, and it wouldn't even need servers.

I'm not talking about reinventing the wheel here, just use already established things that modders, and other games already have.

But you know furthering the genre and the game would be bad, plus selling 2 copies instead of one to a user that wanted to play with someone would be even worse, i get you, Success is defiantly not determined by sales numbers, and units sold. In fact Success is determined by never changing anything and putting out the same thing over and over again like COD or Madden.

When it's people asking developers to change their single player games to multiplayer games then yes it is harmful. It's now to the point that almost every single player game on steam has someone asking for this at some point. It's become the literal definition of SPAM.

There's no polite way to explain it away either. Some people even make it a "mission" to go around steam and write threads like this in as many single player games as they can find on Steam, literally spamming the forums with useless forum threads.

I am all for co-op in RPGS. Let's not forget Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter Nights (nwn2 was developed by Obsidian) have it.

Not every have needs to be single player only, and BG3 had proven that marvelously
