I don't know. I don't see it much the other way, which is surprising. Are people not getting their multiplayer fix elsewhere?
Every single one of these just click on it -> Go to that game's community section -> discussions -> search threads for "multiplayer" (without quotes) and you will find a thread where someone asked it to be added to the game. Literally every single single-player game on steam has at least 1 thread where someone asked for multiplayer to be added. And now we have a thread in this game's forums too.
that said no one here said "force it" or "needs it" I literally said it would be nice
and there is a market for this also look at the multiplayer mods in all the elder scrolls game for example
does that take away from anything? no?
Sorry if I have friends I like to play with, and want to share experiences with, instead of NPCs. it doesn't make my point any less valid, no one here is asking for it to be a MMO. Anyway its not likely to happen unfortunately anyway, but it would make be nice
Asking the developers to completely change their single player game to add multiplayer just isn't going to happen, no matter how many times people ask for it. This will always and forever be a single player only game. Just like the original was single player as well.
The way people act on here is like i'm saying they should turn into a completely different genre and scrap the aesthetic theme or something.
Adding a option to have a co-op mode, would not be the end of thew world. Same story, same story beats, just let one player choose the dialog options, and the co-op player to make suggestions at best and limit it to one co-op or 2 NPCs. The game already saves locally so make it a P2P connection or LAN, and it wouldn't even need servers.
I'm not talking about reinventing the wheel here, just use already established things that modders, and other games already have.
But you know furthering the genre and the game would be bad, plus selling 2 copies instead of one to a user that wanted to play with someone would be even worse, i get you, Success is defiantly not determined by sales numbers, and units sold. In fact Success is determined by never changing anything and putting out the same thing over and over again like COD or Madden.
There's no polite way to explain it away either. Some people even make it a "mission" to go around steam and write threads like this in as many single player games as they can find on Steam, literally spamming the forums with useless forum threads.
Not every have needs to be single player only, and BG3 had proven that marvelously
