Would be nice if Obsidian let us romance companions, for those of us who enjoy the added element of relationship building/ immersion in our RPG's

I'll probably pass on the game for quite a while if it's not a thing

You’re a virgin aren’t you, McKenzie?

They did say they're gonna add things people wanted in the first game, so its possible. I just hope companions have more story to them tbh

With people like Matt Hansen making the game you reaaaallly want romance?
Do you want another Tash cringe followed by group terapy sessions?

Yeah, would be great as long as the writing is not too shallow.

While making Avowed they came out and said there were a lot of team members who would like to do this in the future after being asked about no romance being in Avowed.

So I'm hoping that it make its way into Outer Worlds 2 in some form.
That would require writing companions you'd actually ever want to romance in the first place, and that's a lost art in the AA+ western development sphere nowadays.

Also, PoE 2 could have had Ydwin as an option, but it was a fundraiser stretch goal which didn't get met, so we can't have nice things - enjoy having either a deranged religious zealot who is busy gushing over Eder (the poor man - and a companion of a sort we aren't allowed to have anymore - deserves better) or a walking NTR plot with a bird a certain goddess uses to spy on you as your female options.

I've never played a game yet that had a good romance in it. So many games that try to incorporate them ultimately just end up with you having the exact same experience as if you didn't romance someone, but there's some slightly adjusted dialogue for flirty greetings, or a fade to black sex scene that is supposed to be the culmination of the romance. Do you really feel a connection with someone because of a fade to black sex scene that serves as the finale for your romance subplot?

he literally has nothing to do with this game, and even if he did he was an Art Director on Avowed, why would he handle writing in TOW2???

Baldur's Gate 3 is AA+, no? The Outer Worlds companions were also great imo, I don't think many players would've said no to romancing Parvati.
