Doubt about eyes open/closed

What is the point of open and close the eyes? To the creature don't see me? This is not explained in the game... I am just curious because I got killed both ways

Hey, thanks for the comment. One of the logs tells the player that the alien is attracted to the light from your implants, so can 'sense' you when your eyes are open. It follows the last known location where your eyes were open, so if you stay still, it'll get you!
