I'd definitely recommend it on sale.
Get it on sale, it's great.
Play for Co-op? You might need irl friend for that.
Definitely worth it.
As others have said it started out rough with gameplay limiting design decisions, but so much has changed that the game is much more open and diverse then it was on launch.
ALWAYS(!) use a framelimiter even on fixed 120 FPS ingame you will need a Framelimiter like the built-in in the the nvidia driver or rivatuner and set it here to 120 FPS too.
With this the frametime is a straight line without any stutters.
AND forcing to use DLSS4 Transormer model on RTX2000/3000 cards
give the game a massive picture clearity.
You can follow my guide for DD2 or watch any video on YT:

The cherry is to force DLAA via DLSSTweaksConfig.
The Game never looks so good before.
What is it that made you invest so much time if you feel so negative towards the game?
it's probably just another case of some guy being very mad at the downsides of a game he likes to the point where he pretends to hate it
he has over 1k hours in monster hunter world and gave that one a negative review as well, he clearly shouldn't be taken seriously as far as gaming opinions go lmao
I've goten to the point where I actively DO NOT read negative reviews for games on Steam if the rating is Very Positive. Bc in the past, they would just make me not want to purchase the game. Once I stopped reading them, I actually bought some games that I probably wouldn't have due to negative reviews that people disliked for dumb reasons.
I intentionally read negative reviews and then if all they're giving is dumb reasons I feel reassured that it's really a pretty good game lol
To be fair, if you are paying full price for any game these days you just aren't patient. 'Get it on sale' is not a pearl of wisdom, no offense intended. CDKeys, fanatical, greenman, humble bundles, whatever. Pay over 50% of the release price and you just aren't doing it right.
However you get this game, it's great, I love it. It's got everything you'd like from this genre.
