Me and my friend bought it because you can play the game co-op and we really liked co-oping in Nioh 1&2 and since this was the same developer is was a no brainer.
We enjoyed it for the most part but Nioh is a way better series.
Also Wo Long has a lotter shooter system where you get gear of different qualities such as green tier, blue tier, purple tier similar to something like The Division series.
Without that I think the game would sit around 7/10, but it is what it is.
Also Wo Long is an okay game, but I would recommend Nioh and especially Nioh 2 if you haven't played them.
The gameplay of Wo Long is extremely satisfaying, very dynamic. I really like it. And the game is more challenging than Wukong which is pretty easy.
To me Nioh 1&2 are very good but too repetitive quickly, this one keeps being entertaining due to the nice and unique combat mechanic. To me this is by far the best game of Team Ninja.
To me Wukong and Wo Long are 2 solid fun games people who like these style of games should play.
But remember: As a Team Ninja game, it's graphically ugly.
Like I said its my opinion but I personally like games that fosu on gameplay more then these GOW-like action adventure games that are one and done games with very little depth.
Even if this game is less complex then Nioh 2 the combat still blows WuKong out of the water imo.
Wukong is a real game made with care by people making a passion project.
LMAO
Wo long has deflection mechanics like sekiro, but I could never play Wo Long like Sekiro and make it work. Even if you got all the deflects, you could get a fatal strike and you might have to rinse and repeat the process. Stranger of Paradise functioned more like Sekiro in that once you exhausted the enemy break gauge they were dead, or if it was a boss it entered a new phase.
As far as Nioh is concerned , Wo long is less of a knockoff and more like a fork of Nioh 1. Wo long specifically tries to address certain issues Nioh 1 had like the over use of living weapon. A lot of the good innovations and improvements wo long did just get overshadowed by the bad choices it made.
