One of the biggest reasons Wo Long got such bad reviews is that the optimization/performance was all over the place, so some people just could not enjoy the game. As of now I don't have much issues with the performance as long as I keep it locked at 60fps (plays smooth as butter locked at 60), but some others still claim performance is not fixed for them. Also some are still upset at the state of the initial release and it not being Nioh 3, even though most if not all of those issues have been resolved at this point.
I would recommend it in its complete state but I would caution to keep the playtime under 2hrs to test out performance first as some can play the game perfectly and some have frame drops and other performance issues. I will also note that you should have your expectations set appropriately as this game is NOT Nioh 3 as many expected and this game is simpler then Nioh 2 as it does not have the same combat system (no stances), but it has its own systems and depth to master as with all TN games.
So if you want a fun Action RPG, with tight/flashy combat that is simpler then Nioh's, that still has tons of fun build diversity with its spell system, and has that Team Ninja flair then I would recommend you give this game a try for yourself. If it does not grab you within the 2hr time frame refund, simple.
Mike has the right idea, if you find the demo enjoyable enough, and can get the game on sale, it'll probably at least burn a good tens of hours. You've probably also heard this but, if you're not a fan of parrying, fast-paced, flashy combat (even more so compared to Nioh 1-2) then you won't like this game at all.
I'm actually pretty bad at parrying in games so this game was much harder for me than Nioh. (Probably also contributed to me not liking it as much)
Yeah its interesting how some people find Wo Long too easy because the deflect is so strong, but if parrying is not your thing I could see how this game would be much harder then past TN games and would turn you off from the game.
I personally found the game the easier of the TN games with Strangers of Paradise being the most punishing and Nioh 2 being right behind it.
People
How? Nioh 2's DLCs were very similar in length and had similar content (2-3 main missions, 2-3 side missions, new weapons, new endgame,...etc).
If you liked Nioh's DLCs better that is fine but content wise they are very much the same, as I recently did a fresh Nioh 2 run and the length of the DLC missions very similar to Wo Long's.
The only thing Nioh 2 did better was the level design, but everything else was very similar to Nioh 1 and Nioh 2's DLCs
Is this game their best work? No, but its a solid 7/10 game at least.
Try the game and make you own decision. Good or bad is subjective to individuals. Something the Nioh 3 Weebo Experts don't seems to get. So they rage here to mislead anyone or simply attack them for enjoying the game. It hurts them if you like it.
Nah, Nioh 2 combat is cheese spells. Then pretend to do combos. So DEEP.
