I would argue the QoL/gameplay changes that came along with the DLCs is much more impressive, but the content itself is worth it imo. If you were luke warm of the game on release, the gameplay is pretty different from release with more focus giving the player as much spirit as possible to just have fun with along with give the player up to 6 martial arts at one time (12 if you use 2 weapons).
For me the DLC's along with the QoL changes/patches, made me do a 180 on the game. I was luke warm on it at first, but now I enjoy it a lot and can't put it down.
But they've made some great improvements that made me come back and now I find it a lot of fun. I'm glad I came back.
I have also been on the fence about the DLC season pass, but I have put it in my cart and I'm about to buy it. That Longsword looks sooooo fun!
Overall the game is shaping up pretty good.
The content is same old story - one new area, 3 bosses (first two relatively simple, last one pretty nice), few side missions. + another silly stupid op weapon.
On mechanical changes some nerfs (in particular see 1.202 notes), some buffs, some massive op buffs sadly as well, and a lot of no-burger changes that "nioh 3 experts" see as mountains for some reason.
PVP is exciting now, unfortunately PC tends to have more hackers. Reporting hackers gets you banned. Team Ninja did nothing about hackers. So gg.
Difficulty is never a one size fits all thing. I did not farm, I did not grind, and I have just over 100hrs since launch. I was able to beat him after like 5-6 tries on NG.
I agree the boss is one of the harder in the game but its not impossible on NG.
Ehh, for me 99% of the bosses in the game are a push over, and him along with the fist dude were the only ones to give a decent challenge.
I;m not saying its not hard but Wo Long is a pattern driven game. Get the bosses attack pattern down, along with proper deflects and your literally invincible. The question is will you have the reaction to keep that up for long periods of time, while dealing decent damage.
The game in its current state is a blast and thats saying a lot since I was luke warm on the game at release. Also most hardcore players would argue the game is more casual friendly now due to how many tools it gives the player to fight enemies.
If you like action RPGs with tight combat I would 100% recommend or you could wait for the complete edition later on after DLC3 releases to get the full experience. Just be aware the prevalent optimization issues some people have. My experience is relativity smooth but you know with PC gaming its never the same across all types of hardware.
Also what character level and what difficulty is best for pvp?
