PSA: Your secondary weapon doesn't do anything.

Thought I'd explain this since the game doesn't explicitly tell you and I'd completed it one-and-a-half times before I figured it out. Weapons in your secondary slots (eg your sword whilst you're using your glaive, your bow whilst using your crossbow) don't do anything. Their passive buffs only apply if they're your current active weapon.

You can prove this for yourself easily by going into the Status screen and listing all your active effects. The biggest single point here is probably that the Master Smith Hammer doesn't give you its drop rate bonus if you're not actively using it, which might be unpleasant news for some people.

IMPORTANT EXCEPTION: Set bonuses still work if a weapon that's part of the set is in the inactive slot. For example Guan Yu's glaive will still give the +glaive damage bonus if you're wearing his set but have a different weapon active. (OK, it'd have to be another Glaive but this might be sort-of-useful if you find a different one you prefer).

Probably the single biggest TL/DR there is if you're sneaking, switch your ranged weapon to a bamboo crossbow for that +20 Stealth even if you're not planning to shoot anyone, but YMMV.

My favourite build is glaive build, equipped two glaives. Azure dragon and the other used by by Dong Zhuo. It is as good as having 4 glaive martial art.

There are sets that are not specialized for certain weapons, I carry the weapons for the bonuses while equipped with the desired weapon, ie; Liu bei set with slashing spear and focus on lighting. Very awesome.

Yup, pretty much a slot for getting your desired set bonus without being forced to play with it if you dislike the weaon type. Pretty much what I'm also doing.
