Real Talk: Easy Mode
First off, I soloed the entire game, never used cheese spells, was usually around 10 levels under the recommended level for missions, used no guides, and didn't even get all the healing item upgrades. Now with that out of the way . . .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No game with NG+1, NG+2, etc. should have players crying about not having an easy mode. You could use the exact same logic for NG+s but in reverse to implement an easy mode.

So like everyone starts out in NG, but if you die like 10 times in a row to the first boss, the game could offer to switch you over to NG-0.5, then when you beat that, it could shift you back to NG. Then it could go into NG+, and so on, like normal. This sort of path into easy modes in games has existed since at least the PS2 era of games (DMC and Armored Core both had something along these lines.)

Playing in NG-0.5 wouldn't hurt the structure of the game at all either. It would just add one additional playthrough for people struggling with the game.

Hey its not as silly as people saying just use coop for him, when there is no coop for this boss.

Its sad really.

it's not broken at all, it's just that, apparently, many people don't come up with "hey maybe I can deflect while blocking". IMO.

Too bad that's not what he was claiming. He literally claimed "you can spam" and as a result "the boss will never be able to move." That's not the same as "I can interrupt some of his moves."

then I'll say it clearly: you can interrupt all of his moves (in the first phase).
the only problem is when he manages to jump away, but if you're quick you can catch up before he starts attacking again. worst scenario: you might have to deflect 1 heavy or block/deflect/dodge one combo, I dunno. and if even that is a problem for someone... the game isn't for them.
you can definitely spam, once you're in melee range. obviously "you can spam" is hardly ever intended as "you can close your eyes and mash 1 button". that's stupid.
(I'm only talking about phase 1 here. I want it to be 100% clear)
When I was first fighting him, I was using dual swords. One of my first strategies was to parry his basic attacks, then spam basic attacks of my own. He would eventually start blocking (so he could still move), then I would hit hit with a spirit attack to pass through his guard.

Half way through the fight would eat a crit. So I tried 2 basics then a spirit, and I would eat a hit. So I tried one basic then a spirit, and I would still eat a hit because he could cancel into a red stuff attack or martial art before I could recover. I even had him spam 3 red stuffs back to back.

I eventually beat him by landing a parry then taping basic attack once then backing off again, only going for additional hits once I knocked him down with a crit of my own. Then I basically used that same strat on every other human boss.

I already knew to do it because you can dodge while holding block in Nioh.

Real Talk: They can customize their game however they like. This is artistic freedom! You don't have to buy it. If they say "hey, my game isn´t for everybody", they loose maybe some buyers but the product (art) is how they want.
Nagelfar(with e after g), a German black metal band, didn't play pop music so that more people could hear them. They wanted to be heard by those worthy of their music. You may think it's stupid, but sometimes people have to do what they want without having to please everyone.

I don't know what to tell you. I'm pretty sure I used the sword you have at the beginning.

The problem as its been stated is,that doesnt help. Red attacks go through the block and will take over 2/3 your hp if you are at 10 morale, which is all the flags that are available. So you can only miss like 3 deflects or you die, so you can only miss a couple times, and some of us cant manage to get enough deflects before we miss too many.

This would be fine as a 3rd or 4th boss, but not as the first.

its going to get nerfed, this is a prediction FROM THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!ooooooohhh..

dood if you can't even deflect the big telegraphed attacks that are pretty much the boss' vulnerability, I dunno what to tell you... they're no different from the ones of later bosses.
at this point my advice is "go full wood phase to increase HP". like the famous "level up vigor" for dark souls and elden ring.

The problem isnt the telegraph, its that the timing is wonky based on the telegraph and you need really good timing to get it right.

I get it, Nioh 1/2 and Sekiro vets think this is too easy and the game was made for them.

But for new players.... its not working so well.

Why im so sure it will get nerfed, gamepass had to have paid a lot of money for this, and everyone I know who tried it on gamepass, stopped at the first boss. Yes its anecdotal, but I suspect its not uncommon and if gamepass complains to Team Ninja, they are going to listen to that.

I know steam completion numbers are relatively high, but im guessing most steam purchases are from people who played nioh 1/2 and Sekiro and are very sure, they can beat the game, Im guessing most fence sitters tried it on gamepass or demo.

See, again. Whenever someone says the timing isn't too harsh you just have to adapt you completely dismiss the point by saying it's the veterans talking. Lame.
Same with the achievements.
Just because you can't explain why so many beat him, you blame it on the gamepass or demo now as well.

Let's just excuse everything so you are right about what you are saying.

I'm gonna go out on a massive limb and assume you never tried parrying in Nioh.

I can imagine the conversation now:
"Hey, Team Ninja, apparently a bunch of dullards can't beat your tutorial, despite the vast majority being able to. How do you feel about making the game easier for this ridiculous minority?"

So you're aware there's plenty of statistics to poke holes in your feeble assertion but... conveniently ignore it to push the narrative for which you have no actual evidence of aside from "My friends and I are inept".

Lot of people going for that block status apparently,

I can't defend the nonsense I peddle so I make excessive use of the block button.

This is why you're treated the way you are.

luckily someone alterted me to this, you cant just insert things into a quote by me, claim I said it and then just reply to it

Now you are reported and blocked!

You made a big mistake with this one, you can make fun of me all you want, but you cant insert your own comment into a quote then claim I said it.

If that was allowed, I could say 1000 offensive things, quote you for it, then wait to see you get banned for it.

No no.. bad bad poster! go to your room.

lol complaining about an edited quote is like going to complain to the teacher in kindergarten because someone destroyed your lego building or something, ahah

even souls veterans and sekiro players were new players, once... that boss isn't harder than, say, first (non-tutorial) genichiro or even the first chained ogre (unless you know how to cheese the latter). not to mention the blazing bull.
I'm sure a ton of players abandoned sekiro at the chained ogre. that didn't stop it from selling very well.

I think of it more like telling the boss, another person is sending emails with my name signed, and considering they vanished after that, I suspect they got a time out.

I never played Serkiro, so I have no idea, but if we look at souls, neither asylum, taurus are nearly this hard, and you dont see a boss this hard till Capra.

So yeah its not that the boss is that terrible, its that its positioned terrible and the one of the games features, npcs and coop are both disabled, yes you have blind boy, but he is utterly useless and just shouts useless advice at you.

Its going to get nerfed, and probably nerfed pretty hard. Probably, just added that for our local grammar police.
