I'm about 3/4 through NG+ and no changes seem to have been made to enemy placements. Usually (if the same holds up here) the first DLC adds a new difficulty with different enemy placement, in both Nioh 1-2 the enemies were just harder and more aggressive in NG+1.
Thats not entirely true, because there is actually tier 9 steel/leather placed on the ground in maps as well.
The entire game is simply whether or not you can parry mortal blows, which are all telegraphed moves.
Short of giving every enemy new movelists that have faster and cheesier mortal blows nothing is going to change.
You either parry the big red flash or you lose.
why does it matter? just parry the red moves.
WL is similar to NIoh and same developer where you are expected to farm for better or higher value gear. This is not entirely Sekiro
"oh boy i do 6 more percent damage with regular attacks. this really changes the fact that one fatal blow does 10 times as much damage as a fully charged spirit attack""
You can win most fights in this game without even moving as long as you parry the red moves.
Sekiro is nothing like that. You cant parry half the moves and there's more to the combat than "press O then press Triangle"
Indeed, I'm interested in Special Effects that either increase Spirit dmg on enemies or decreases my Spirit dmg.
None of this matters. You can literally run all the way across the arena and hide from half the bosses until they do the red move, then fatal blow them and win the fight.
I really hope the DLC for this game adds some more complexity, or at the very least we get a Nioh 3 with the unbelievably superior gearing system from this game.
I cant imagine dealing with gear stats in nioh 2 after experiencing this game.
Just want to reiterate, i love this game. Just saying I don't see how they can make it any harder unless they make cheesier red moves or beef up enemy health forcing you to parry more red moves without missing.
This entire game is a really complex set of distractions before and after red moves.
I genuinely have no idea why martial arts and offensive spells were even included in this game lol other than to look cool i guess.
It reads like you didn´t understand the game too well. Sure, you can just fish for critical attacks but that´s not efficient outside of no hit-runs and kinda boring. You can boost your MA a lot and with the right setup deal a lot of damage. Same for the spirit attacks and normal attacks. Depending on your setup, you don´t even use "fatal strikes" because the damage you can deal with MA when the boss is staggered is just so much higher.
Same for a fully charged spirit attack. If your build is tailored towards spirit damage you will deal massive amount of damage,
I agree on difficulty though but that´s totally subjective. For example, I´ve spent nearly 1k hours in 'The Depths' of Nioh2 and I don´t feel it´s too hard but a lot players never finished 'The Depths' and the forums/reddit were full of people who had problems even finishing the game once.
In Wo Long we have the same all over again. People struggle with Zhang Liang while I though he was a total pushover. First phase you can stagger him until he does a critical attack and repeat until he goes 2nd phase. 2nd phase is a total cakewalk except you get intimidated by his new form and moves. During your first playthrough you can brute force pretty much every non human boss and deflect -> counter attack the rest. In NG+ you kinda need a bit more brain to not get stomped but the game is far from being difficult yet it´s good fun and hopefully the DLCs will bring more 'endgame' content.
