increases damage you take, decreases damage you do.
So high morale is bad so its basicly as useless as leveling is

Why not see it as a number of minor objectives you have to clear? Its not like it takes that long if you only care about the flags and not killing every enemy or obtaining every item.
i don't like feeling like i have to find them cause they only exist because the stupid morale system does. if you stripped out the morale system, you wouldn't need those either. it just feels like something added to pad the length of the game for more casual players, while giving more skilled players an even easier means of beating the game cause if you're good, you're not losing that morale and always above the enemies's morale level, but if you're not, you're always going to be at or below their level unless you waste your time hunting down those flags. they already do come off as a number of side objectives you have to clear and they suck for that reason. if you don't get it, you don't get it. good for you if you don't mind it, but clearly some of us do. telling us how easy you think they are to find doesn't make them less annoying to the people who don't like it anymore than telling people how to do a garbage escort quest they hate will make them hate it any less. some people hate things you don't mind doing. we're different.
It either makes the game a complete joke...or utterly stupid.

Especially when you need to grind bosses for drops or get the collectibles...it's just dumb

They also still shoot a beam of light into the sky, albeit smaller and less bright then large flags. If you are looking into their direction they are very easy to spot. Kodamas, often you could walk right past them without seeing them.

So far I have only missed a single one, and it was because it was in a sewer maze and I missed one of the jumping points.
the kodamas were also a stupid system. the flags aren't any more fun to hunt down and just seem like a waste of time to pad out game length while not providing anything worth it in return. ignoring all the kodama's was easy as they added nothing to the game you needed to help beat it. the morale system in integral to all the combat on all the maps.

no it's the opposite. If you're lower morale than the enemy you'll do less damage and take more damage. If you're higher morale than the enemy it's vice versa. If you find all the flags you're always at 20 morale, same as the boss. (you might be higher than 20 on your first attempt against the boss)

didn't the kodamas give you more healing?

something like 20% extra healing if you got all of them, but what he was getting at that you didnt "had" to get them.

now if you are skipping 5+ flags in ng+ it often turns into a 1hit normal attacks from bosses.
its also weird that a lot of levels give you a faster route to the boss without the flags, but you cant skip them anyway.

Healing?

The morale system is amazing. Its in a way a difficulty slider. You get as much morale as you want on a boss to get the difficulty you want. I understand most will just get as much as they can to make it as easy as possible, but its up to you how you use it at the end of the day.
But that is not where the morale system stops, many people don't realise that when you get hit by a red attack , you lose 1 morale, and they gain 1. This makes fight dynamic, and they can swing on a knifes edge, in a way its a snowball effect. It's why sometimes you feel like you kill a boss or a hard mob super fast, or die to it super fast. Play well and you get rewarded and snowball the fight, and it can flip the other way too.

Add in that morale is tied to ur wizard spells level and everytime you start a new level ur like level 1 in many ways, and you have to work around missing spells, or use other ones until you level up, it keeps u from playing 1 way the entire game.

Honestly, i think there is a lot of issues with wo long that were not present in Nioh games, but morale is not one of them. I hope they build on the morale system for future games, its a really nice idea.

Healing?
Kodama gives different type of blessing in Nioh 2. Collect them enough when you fight there are high chances of dropping elixirs to heal.

Morale system needs a con added to its pros like your spirit deflection bar fill up faster the higher morale the more carefull you need to be or remove damage reduction part

Well the animation taking Dragon's Pot Cures is janky so sometime hitting heals is slower than we often see. Even fast boss like Baishe can whip you up by the time you hit heal.

I kinda just let boss or enemy kill me if i get it for if i get hit i see no point in keep trying the attempt
