A few ways but a safe way is to go into your Inventory tab of the menu and manually open the sub menu on the item in question. A quick button to toggle it on and off doesn't seem to exist unlike in Nioh/Nioh 2 which is... Baffling.

Go to the blacksmith in the hidden valley. When you select upgrade it will give you a a few options to choose from. One of them are locking an item. Just go through your inventory an lock what you plan on using.

You dont need to be at blacksmith to do this, just open your inventory(not equipment) and open the submenu to lock them.

The amount of things missing from Nioh 2, just like quality of life and management stuff is INSANE. How did this happen? Do you literally have to return to the village, run to the blacksmith and MANUALLY transfer arrows and bolts to refresh at a flag? Because right now, that seems to be the only way to restock without just buying more. It doesn't pull from your storehouse.

It is pretty annoying because I remember Nioh handled this a lot better.

In general the equipment tab is missing a lot of the controls it should have. Most stuff is only possible to do from the inventory tab.

The equipment tab is able to filter by weapon type. The inventory tab is not. So now you manually walk through your hundreds of items and have to look for the ones you want to keep in this mess.

No description of the applied sort either. By now I figured out what most options do but at the start I was kind of confused how it sorted...

Unless I'm missing something, you're completely out of luck when it comes to the item submenu if you're using a controller. The option only exists at the blacksmith. Your options with a controller are remove, description, special effect details, sort, and back. Y/triangle apparently does nothing unless you're on the main equipment menu.

The lack of a quick toggle is baffling. The game is clearly built on top of the Nioh games. I would think the quality of life options from those games would appear in this one. Apparently, that's asking for too much. What makes it more bizarre is they developed the game for consoles first. Why not map something to every button in the equipment menu?
