How to remove companions?

They are seriously making the game less fun. They deprive you of a fair fight and at worst, block your path or draw aggro from enemies and deprive you from parrying.

If i remember correctly you got an item in your USABLE tab in inventory that can remove companions but i cannot remember the name of the item and i am too lazy and tired to start-up the game right now.

I think the icon is a green weed/herb? Might also be the memorial tablet but cant be sure, I never used it.

Yup, that's correct. It's the Willow branch. I believe you get it after meeting Zhao Yun.

Seriously this late in the game? I started the third level yesterday and now got two companions forced on me. I just don't understand that ♥♥♥♥. Do I need to cheat the item for the game to leave me the hell alone, really?!

It's not "this late", litterally after the tutorial boss, you have this item.

I just looked at the bossfight #2 mentioned and I haven't been to that area. If you are right it was a misunderstanding. I look at it later when I play a session again myself.

I started the fith level in the game and still have no item. Can it be bugged or do I need to get this item from some npc, basically how do I obtain it? The third level was boring and the boss in the forth level was as well.

The two companions in those levels more or less runined any enjoyment I would have otherwise had.

Edit: I found out how. You have to click one time into the Reinforments section once, not even recuriting anybody just click the thing at a save point afterwards you get the item. Would've been nice if the game itself told me that, but whatever. Now the game finally feels challenging and I have fun with it again. So thats cool.
