what he said. type 1 is for PS4/5. type 2 is for xbox and virtually everything else.

Go to steam settings > controller > general controller settings > enable Xbox configuration support. Then run the game inside Big picture mode.

I have tried different options. If you have other controller type devices like a wheel, try disconnecting those. Also try to right click the game in Steam library > properties > controller, try using default, enabling and disabling steam input. Disabling steam input fixed it for me.

(playing on pc through my Xbox GamePass with a Razer controller) I hit the toggle switch for the triggers to switch from the short throw and the long throw and that worked for me, I do still have an issue with the Run L3 function pulls up the chat keyboard on screen, good luck hope this works
