WTH is wrong with you ? XD
I dont think you ever played with a KBM or your a troll.
Im sorry I dont know what to answer to these idiotic posts so I just send back to expedient....
Tiresome to argue with people like you.
Please read what you wrote, think about it and then rewrite it just to give it some sense.
^^
Your metric seems to be action per finger, and you admitted that you use less fingers while using a controller. Nice self own there champ.
Do you enjoy double presses for like half of your actions? I dont.
But your assumption is wrong. The controller has way more ergonomic design. Using button combinations is easier than on keyboard. Pressing Shift + 1 is usually more inconvienient than pressing LB + X for example.
The biggest advantage of k&m is the mouse. It is way better for precise aiming and managing inventory or general UI elements.
SO if you want to play a game with a ton of inventory managment or UI managment (like charts etc) k&m would be better. But for an action game controller is better suited.
Then again, you do you - if the game has a k&m support, it is reasonable to expect it to work properly.
One stick replaces 4!!! keys on the keyboard, same as the mouse cursor movement.
Typically you need 2 fingers on the keyboard to "imitate" an analog stick and since you can press the stick, it is another button, so 3 fingers.
And where the hell do you count 5 fingers on a mouse? At most you can use 4. :D
tldr: A controller that is used with 6 fingers is "worth" 12 fingers. :D
Then we go to right stick. You either press "combos" with your right thumb or you use your camera.
When you use a mouse you don't have to choose. You simply press combos and move around the camera.
Some bosses in Sekiro, for example, punish you for having a lock-on (like ape). So being unable to move your camera comfortably can be deadly. Some people are ok with that, some are not. Meaning it is all subjective and saying "best played with controller" is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I hate lock-on and unaccurate camera so unless you never use your camera (racing games) it is a big deal for me. But even then in games like elden ring i find it easier to summon my mount or drink my estus on keyboard, especially in a middle of a fight. Maybe this difference is not that big but eventually all those micro details add up together.
tldr: 4 fingers are almost never used when you use a gamepad, 4 are on lb\rb\rt\lt and 2 on a stick area. Meaning 6 fingers, while 2 on a stick area usually do much more work. Using the keyboard at least 5 fingers can work as much as those 2 providing more comfort and precision. Mouse = right stick, and then it is still 100x times easier to press buttons on a mouse then use right stick and press buttons the same time.
it is all subjective and depends on a person or a game. The simpler the game the easier it is to use the controller, it is true. However it doesn't mean that you can't use less buttons on a keyboard. Quite the opposite. That's why it is bizarre we are even in that situation.
But even in a simple game it doesn't hurt to have precise camera movements and key-presses. For some people what controller brings to the table doesn't justify the loss in precision. Other people are ok with that and it is fine. But they are narrow-minded and can't understand that it is not a racing game. It is not as basic controls wise so this little additional comfort makes a lot of difference, at least for some people. Even pressing left stick during movement for me is less comfortable then pressing shift and pressing W at the same time. And unless you press that stick once in 10 hours it will bother me. Especially if you press it every 5 minutes. I would rather use keyboard.
