As for invasions, they aren't available in the demo and have no idea if it is possible to prevent them (outside of playing offline or possibly special password / keyword in online settings)
All in all, i think it's mostly problematic that there isn't a minimum region / ping listing option for multiplayer settings.
You can summon random people with tiger seals(item easy to find/grind) in missions to help you out. And oposite if you wanna help someone.
In missions you can also create Online Coop Lobby and invite your friends, where you can prepare and choose which mission you wanna start. I assume you can do this from the "map" as well like in previous Nioh, but no information seen on that yet. I've also struggeled to find information about the need of tiger seals in this coop mode, but in Nioh there was no need for items in this mode. Either way this is the best COOP mode since you don't get seperated after each boss, theres an option if you wanna continue or leave.
