Will this have crossplay between Steam and the Xbox PC app?

Like the title says, I plan to play day 1 on gamepass. But I have a friend that's exclusively Steam. Can we play together?

I saw it was confirmed not to have crossplay between Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Where is the confirmation that two PC stores can't play with one another?

It's on their official faq on their website. Crossplay for PC is steam or if you play the pass/gamestore, you can crossplay with the xbox one/series s.

Well, Steam is a big enough community. I am not worried about it. Somewhat unrelated, but I do remember back when Borderlands 3 was an Epic exclusive: When the Steam version finally came out a year later, they had some interesting issues develop with Steam users opting out of the in-game crossplay feature, that would have given Epic users access to the Steam users co-op community.

Yeah, community size isn't an issue. It's getting him onto Gamepass or forcing me to spend $60 for the Steam version when both are PC lol
