In his second phase, you only need to get him down to half health, then you can press Y+B to trigger the cutscene that ends the fight. He has hyper armor, so just don't get greedy and the fight is more than manageable.
People keep saying he's harder than the next two bosses, but if you know these things, you can see he's not intended to be.
I mean seriously ? if you don't want to put the time to learn mechanics and combat flow of a particular game that is fine, might not be for you. But let's not make it a general statement on the game....calling your lack of skill/practice at the moment a major game flaw...
On PC, you could see everything was accurate and got to choose between visuals or performance. The ps4 version doesn't allow you to do that. Which is weird because Nioh 1 and 2 on PS4 both had that performance emphasis option.
I'm honestly not sure that the PS4 version even hit 30 fps and you need that accuracy to play. That's why I say it was unplayable. I can crush Zhang Liang. But on PS4 I got stomped in 2nd form because it was so bad. You can kinda cheese the first form by just attacking but defensively you're screwed and this gameplay depends on that defense.
