Why do people bother with co op?
So I joined a few people's games and pretty much they are just obliterating all the enemies. To the point I don't even have to fight. Obviously the bosses is where I find I am most useful or actually able to fight.

I just find it useless to call for help if you really don't need the help. It's like they don't act I am not even there but they called for help?

Easy, fun farming, really.

How is it fun for me if I am just following the host. Unless we are friends and talking to one another, I just don't see it as fun farming.

It is not for everyone, certainly. I am used to the Monster Hunter online formula of co-op well enough that this is close enough to still be mentally "fun-ish." But yeah, the co-op in this game does make bosses way too easy. Similar problem back in Nioh 2, that seems to still be present here. At least in Monster Hunter some of the monsters scaled in co-op to no longer seem like pinatas. But yeah, this game is fundamentally balanced around single player. Avoid co-op if you do not want an easy game.

Some people have already gotten pretty good at the demo. Once the full game releases there will be more people that actually need the help. I recruit now and then for fun and just relax a bit, so we can both get a good chunk fighting. (Or get my ass beat by teleporting enemies, but that's on my end sometimes.)

Still, its a demo so not much to do anyway.

I alway find myself fighting a level solo before I recruit people into my game. I like the idea that I know how to beat the boss without being carried. For me being carried feels like a insult to my nature.

Also I do find having 3 people a bit too much for this type of game. I usually would just recruit one person. Recruit 2 people seems overkill.

I don't do it because I don't run with such builds BUT I understand them
If I sat there to coop and help it's because I assume who summoned me needs help with the boss and wants it done
So I'd play to win
I guess that's what people are doing
Very understable tbh

I am the same; some people cannot really manage without co-op though. One reason the first boss having co-op disabled in the demo may be putting some people off.

it's pretty much easy farming for good loot. Kinda boring when your farming on your own + it's way faster. Also you got to realise that the missions we have in the demo are the opening levels of the game. So yea the game isn't going to be crazy hard for groups of players, maybe in the later game it'd be harder. Don't forget the players are still learning the controls at this point.

Edit:
forgot to mention it adds more game time, so you can get more out of the game. finally it breaks up the constant grind down the same old path. cause now the objective is keeping the host alive while they probably do some stupid and nooby stuff.

I typically stay behind the host and let them mess up, sometimes it's fun seeing the situations they end up in.

Because (at least in Nioh) the enemies were tougher and when after long and fun expeditions I've tried to go solo, I was killing things much faster. If we have similar mechanics here, then coop is much more interesting. You could play with random people and try different roles on yourself, you could divide and try to clear stage faster, beating the same boss/enemy for specific material/text are more fun when you are in the team, you could try adapt for your team and try to sync spells/abilities. It's for sure more fun for me.

I don't need help, but I let folks come in to grind for Stuff

Oh and enemies get beefier with more people

With Dark Souls games, there is sort of a etiquette of playing. If you are the host and someone joins your world to help you out. You usually would greet them by bowing or waving or using some sort of gesture. Then once you both made your introductions you would be on your way.

Yet if I join a person's world and they are just doing their own thing and killing everything like I am a third shadow. I don't see the point in joining.

But you nailed it with your reply that I don't really like following around like a dog.
