How is it fun for me if I am just following the host. Unless we are friends and talking to one another, I just don't see it as fun farming.
Still, its a demo so not much to do anyway.
I alway find myself fighting a level solo before I recruit people into my game. I like the idea that I know how to beat the boss without being carried. For me being carried feels like a insult to my nature.
Also I do find having 3 people a bit too much for this type of game. I usually would just recruit one person. Recruit 2 people seems overkill.
If I sat there to coop and help it's because I assume who summoned me needs help with the boss and wants it done
So I'd play to win
I guess that's what people are doing
Very understable tbh
Edit:
forgot to mention it adds more game time, so you can get more out of the game. finally it breaks up the constant grind down the same old path. cause now the objective is keeping the host alive while they probably do some stupid and nooby stuff.
I typically stay behind the host and let them mess up, sometimes it's fun seeing the situations they end up in.
Oh and enemies get beefier with more people
LOL he wants to play coop, not just follow around like a dog
With Dark Souls games, there is sort of a etiquette of playing. If you are the host and someone joins your world to help you out. You usually would greet them by bowing or waving or using some sort of gesture. Then once you both made your introductions you would be on your way.
Yet if I join a person's world and they are just doing their own thing and killing everything like I am a third shadow. I don't see the point in joining.
But you nailed it with your reply that I don't really like following around like a dog.
