Anyone else coming in as a DW fan?

I didn't play Nioh 1 or 2 but I spent hours upon hours of my childhood playing Dynasty Warriors 5-6-7-8
My hype for this game is just going "OMG GUAN YU, TS'AO TS'AO! *gasp* SUN CE!!!??"
I can't wait to see "everyone" and how they look in this game. I read that in Nioh 2 your character end up being an important figure to the historical events (you're toyotomi Hideyoshi alongside someone else) and i'm already going wild thinking maybe we're Liu Bei, or Taishi Ci, or maybe This and that?
I am a huge souls game fan too so with that Idea in mind combine with the memories from Dynasty Warriors, I really Hope the fight with Lu Bu is some Friede, Ishiin, Malenia level fight where i'm reminded of trying to do Hu Lao Gate for the first time.
I decided to make my character have Zhou Tai's face, he's my favorite. can't wait to see if he's actually in game. I hope Chi Bi is the most insane stage ever.

I think there will be some fanbase from DW, because romance of three kingdom is an interesting writing. I've enjoyed DW and ROTK, though didn't like much where both series did go. On the other hand I've enjoyed Nioh pretty much.

Yep. I initially thought this WAS a Dynasty Warriors spin-off. I mean, having seen all of these familiar faces in the trailer share Omega Force's art concept of these historical figures, can ya blame me?

I'm looking forward, if possible, to seeing this one's Nobunaga, myself. Now, there's an immortal man that sure seems to have many iterations in several kinds of games. Samurai Maiden's being the most recent imagining.

Youll find most souls fanboys swarming here as usual and only a few DW/SW fans. Playing DW over the years has helped me learn 3K so that would be helpful here.

I am the opposite, never touched a Dynasty Warriors game, but here as a Nioh fan. Interestingly, the Dynasty Warriors team actually made Wild Hearts instead, the other recently released Koei Tecmo game.

yeah I might check out wild hearts later, I enjoyed MH Rise but I didn't like that you just keep ranking up forever so the grind never ends, I rather feel like I can "finish" a character then make a new one

Im pretty sure its pronounced "Tsow-tsow" and written as Cao Cao. Watched Red Cliff recently and they speak the same.

pretty much pronounced how it's spelled, Ts-A-oh Ts-a-oh, native speaker will say it fast and not mess up one of the 5 accents tho, so it might sound like tsow but there's a clear break between the A and O sound , cheers. Also the joke is that before Dynasty 7 I believe the english voice actor would mispronounced all the names, Cao Cao son is name Cao Pi so you can figure that one out lol

i think in dynasty warriors 2, they actually said tsao tsao and not cow cow, then in 3-6 they went with Cow Cow.
and in Dw9 ive discovered that i been saying everyone's name wrong

unless our character is part of shu then we will be lucky to see other officers from the other dynasty's at least in side quests if we arent killing them

Haha, it's somewhat a meme. Old games did pronounce him as Kao Kao, which sounded familiar to Cow Cow

Took them until DW7 to pronounce things correct, but I didn't care. It was always fun and neat.

I'm excited to see their takes. That was one of the cool parts of Nioh, which figures from that era (aka Samurai Warriors) would make an appearance. I made a thread about this before the demo launched but no one was interested then.

This is the first iteration where Lu Bu's archery skill is on display too.

yup, I tried out DW4 coop at a friend's when I was a kid and instantly fell for the hack n slash against 100 enemies play style. Pretty sure I played all the mainline DW games after that but eventually just didn't feel like the quality really improved. However I really fell in love with the story and characters so I went and played other ROTK games like Koei's ROTK and Total War TK, also watched the Chinese show.
