After having played almost 600 hours of combined Nioh + Nioh2, and having finished the Wo Long Demo via the Microsoft Store (as it had 120fps uncapped over there vs. 60fps cap on Steam), Wo Long is very far from being better than Nioh. Perhaps this opinion is based on personal taste, could very well be. Though from what I've seen, and experienced as a gamer, I can honestly put my hand in the fire on this one.
Wait for the finished game maybe your opinion will change
Maybe, same goes for those claiming it's better than Nioh.

Unpopular opinion i like the removal of the stance system.
Same. I spent the whole game in the upper "strong" stance, with rare exceptions when slightly faster attacks were needed.

When fighting the first boss his long snake arm can be broken off but it will grow back at some point. The last boss has something that can break off too but I don't want to spoil it. I think however they can grow back the limb after ex amount of time.

The thing is that this game does not seem to have independent weapon skill tree. Frankly, the weapon skills, combos added so much more depth which made each weapon feel extremely unique in Nioh. While in WoLong, you can seamlessly switch between weapons mid combo to chain your attacks, all it does is give you the illusion of having more moves than Nioh which it certainly does not.

I know that more things will be unlocked as the game progresses but I doubt a core mechanic as weapon skill tree would become available - the devs would have shown otherwise as they did in Nioh.
I would prefer this fighting system over Nioh 2 any day. Not that I don't like Nioh 2, I just don't find Nioh 2 combat flows well, a little janky, good for it's time. Now i have Wo long... I am a happier man.

Counter parry - very fun.
Weapon switching with counter parry + 4 skills - similar to stances in nioh 2 but you must see it and use all attacks.
Divine beast - attack and buff when needed
jump attack and you can hit enemy head - stagger
critical hits - when you hit boar in guts - additional stagger
combo with aoe wizardry - you can navigate longer attack (skill) to other enemy and it's very smooth in my opinion

base parry is for movement, counter parry for dynamic combat and guard parry you can learn enemy moveset without risk

I think it's very deep afterall with many skills in weapons. You can jump with skill, then switch weapon midair and land behind enemy. Super fun gameplay. And it's only demo :)

Who knows, I played Nioh 2 but not Nioh 1 so cant say.

I got Nioh 2 on PC with all the DLC content so i got the whole experience and i really loved the game altought the RNG kinda pissed me off sometimes.

Wo Long is good to but.. I only tried the demo and the demo is not a representative of the full game.
I will most likely wait for actual gameplay(not demo) and decide afterwards if i will buy the game or not.

I had fun with the demo but i need to see more first.

wdym? Once you learn the enemies' patterns and get into the habit of ki pulsing, flux, and flux II, combat pretty much flows like water. Nioh 2 is definitely the kind of game I'd put up there alongside God Hand when it comes to satisfaction once you get the groove down.

Edit: Regarding the topic, I don't hate what I've played in the demo, but I also wouldn't say it is better than Nioh2 either as far as the demo goes. But who knows, the full game might change my mind once I play it on gamepass.

Each weapon can have multiple skills, based on rarity, and those skills can differ even between weapons of the same type.

For examples I had 3 dual swords that all had a different R1 + square attack.

This game focuses far more on parrying and countering than Nioh did. It won't be the same so I don't see the point in trying to compare them.

It is all about personal preference. Don't get me wrong, I like Nioh 2 and it has some of the best combat mechanics for action games. Until I tried Wo Long that is. The only game I can compared to Nioh 2 was Dark souls and elden ring. Obviously, Nioh 2 has a much interesting combat mechanics. But it still feels mostly like a Dark souls games with extra stuff.

Wo Long makes the combat feel natural. Again, a personal preference.

Easier? I cant wait for those words to be eaten. You know the backbone spell that allowed the good bulk of the playerbase of nioh isn't in this game right? No sloth talisman , it's not there and the only thing close to it, requires 30 lightning and a build up to activate it. Watch the ign mid tier preview and say that looks easy, by all means!

The game is definetly not easier than nioh

Nioh2 is atleast harder then Elden ring or darksouls 3 lol

but on my take already with this hole DEMO i hate that the game dus not show any XBOX or even PC keybindings only PLAYSTATION keybinds and i hate it since i dont even have a playstaiton controler and i refuse to even buy a controler in the first place im more comfortable on keyboard and mouse but guess i gona have to wait for a year to see if they add it them self or a MOD maker just do it and install that mod for my self atleast then
