Ferries and boats in general are planned as a free update after the game releases, but they won't be in the game on launch.
Seeing you so enthusiastic about traffic I'd recommend you to hop on our Discord server, we are discussing traffic solutions daily :)
For many reasons don't do Discord. Not into that modern well I won't say it here but thanks for replying and glad to know ferries are planned and hope they impact local traffic.
This is our 'big' ferry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5r-Qiia7m0 Wheatland Ferry in which Canby is the next big one so to speak but not operated by Marion County. I got to blow the horn on the Wheatland Ferry and once helped lower the ramp which the guy showed me the ramp cam which was cool. The Canby ferry guy once on a night crossing shined the light on the river reading to let me see it and I also got to help lower the ramp on that one.
