P\lay with the engine settings. For example, having a high TCS will stop the rear from spinning but will reduce power. Same with a high AW setting, engine power will be cut to stop the front coming up. In race you want PWR on 2, as 1 will be slower to save fuel, and 3 will be fastest but uses more fuel (it's okay to use in short bursts along the straights). In Moto 3 class I tend to run TCS on 1 or 2 depending on track, EBS on 3 and PWR on 2 for races. In GP class I'll run TCS on 3, AW 2 to 3, EBS 3, and PWR 2.
While assists are great to help you learn the game, in the end it is always faster to turn these off if/once you learn to play without them. Automatic breaking really slows you down as it often breaks too much and for too long so this is defintely one to try and turn off, same with stearing assist.
In terms of other assists, I have auto break off and front break assist (I think it's this) on the second to lowest (basically the one that lets you have full controll of when you break but also lets you keep "joint breaks" enabled). If you can, learn to turn off break input modulation and throttle input modulation as this will basically cut your throttle if it thinks you're accelerating too much.
When it comes to breaking, you want to do most of the breaking before you're in the corner. You can still have the break applied when entering the corner, but it's important to gradually ease it off if you're going to do this. And try not to apply the break hard when in corners as this will cause the front to wipe out. (Sorry if you already know this).
And while you're learning the game, make use of rewinds and keep trying a corner until you get the right line. Having the full racing line indicator on to start with is also a big help.
But most of all, have fun playing around!
It does take a while to learn the game but it is doable. I'd remove Auto break straight away as you'll probably find that you learn so much faster than you expact you can when this is turned off.
Thanks for all the helpful advice Buzz.. I am still only like maybe 15 hours maybe playtime still [without a controller, keyboard only]. Controller coming Sat.
I am still trying to get the hang of it... like penalty lap thing... Bit of Drama there almost threw my keyboard though my monitor after the 20th or so attempt at it... lol
Been watching lots of videos on this game.. like Dyl469, ROB046, Riotbox going though career mode from motogp3- to motogp [still watching it], and some others.
Think maybe something wrong with Motogp3's.. or something. lol
Moto3 at Losail is one of my favourite combinations and I really enjoy racing there.
I think however, I need to somehow RESET my game or Lap Times in the game. This all might be normal to you guys, but I just think moto3 track times; Like on the Italy track, in the WET, at 20% AI being 2:13.465 is a little fast. I mean, I know you guys run this at about 1:58 but damn. lol
I think I broke my game or something flying around these tracks with auto brake on trying ot learn everything and the tracks. Every damn track is like this now and I cannot even do the Development Tests cause the times required are faster than pole position. lol and that is at 20%, not even 30%.
I eventually get some, but I am having to drive like the devil is chasing me just to get one or two of them done before a race.
I dont even think uninstalling the game would work, as there is probably some file somewhere that will just reload it the second I reinstall it.... lol
