Hm... no, there is no "fix". Workarounds, yes.
I am usually not fond with a third party answering questions for the affected one, but I like when you do it more cool and level headed than the affected one might probably do ~
What I like to know about them is ~
if they used the auto-save feature
if their game closed or even crashed unexpectedly prior to the issue
if they had issues before ~ like at launch not being able to create a save file until the patch
if they are using an Acer computer or components like mainboard
what results they have gotten from using a recovery tool like recuva
what storage device they are using for the game and for their Steam files
what happened with their remote storage data if they were not able to retrieve them
and if they ran scandisk and crystaldisk for outruling any hardware issues.

for making the issue better visible for the developers. But I have gotten so little user feedback that it hardly matters, I guess.
Should they not care enough about providing the information I am looking for, it might do for them to avoid using the auto save feature and making proper backups of their save data. Probably.
