Popfish won't bite?

This sounds like a weird and minor bug, but I literally can't find anything online that indicates other people have this problem. I've been fishing in every map (on low rank so far) and the popfish just...won't bite. There is no bait and no special way to fish that I'm aware of, and these are not rare fish. I've seen them multiple times, but they just swim up to the hook and then go right past it. Every other fish will bite except those.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way Capcom will fix it?

No. Not seen any similar or related reports. Could you make a recording of what you described where they just swim up and not get hooked?

Also, please verify your game's files integrity, just to be on the safe side, before doing the recording.

Were you ever successful with fishing before?

I have caught all the fish successfully except the popfish.
tried at every spot and can't catch it.

Okay, but what confuses me is - the video you are sharing shows you have an issue with catching any fish?

It would be great though if this got fixed, every other fish bites normally, it shouldn't take so much effort to catch a single type of fish!

I keep wondering if the issue only shows up when using M/K.
