complete either hub or villa quest till you get a pop up for sunbreak then do that asap since HR gear except for weapon become obsolete as soon as you go master rank
only grind for deco and weapon in base game
Rise and World compared to Ye Olde Monster Hunter has far more optional content in base game than the olden games where you were given five village quests to do and then you got your urgent quest that promoted you to the next rank. And at most, you had 5 Low Ranks and 5 High Ranks and in some games with multiplayer you had G-Rank, which was what Master Rank used to be.
World has 49 Low Rank Optional quests, 72 High Rank Optional Quests, 8 Special assignments, 16 Low Rank Assignments, and 11 High Rank Assignments. For a total of 156 Quests in Base world Alone. Some of which have some stringent requirements.
Rise seems to have a radiant sidequest thing going on through villager requests meaning that there isn't any definite number you can place on those. And I don't wanna spoil myself on the quests in the story as I only got up to 4 star on PS4.
But back in the olden days of monster hunter, you got your 60 quests. You could do em over and over if you wanted, but those were your 60 and you had to do the non urgent quests to unlock the urgent ones.
I'm just saying that it's worth staying in base game for awhile, grinding up materials for decorations and such, and actually experiencing all the content of the game before skipping off to MR. Like, you literally don't fight any Elder Dragons aside from Ibushi and Narwa before you're able to go to Master Rank.
Not to mention just getting more skilled in general before the difficulty curve of Master Rank.
