sad thing is you know the stupid world 2 rise 2 war is going to continue with wilds and with the next game from both sides because people just love fighting over stupid junk and arguing against spite with spite
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3076923478 this meme but we'll be able to expand it with more games and text!! isnt that exciting
at least you can be confident the steam forums are just a small minority of the overall community, and there's still a lot of people ready to jump up and be welcoming and helpful to anyone who asks
I mean let's be honest it's also incredibly likely we're gonna continue to have one mainline one portable game released into the near future. This discourse is not going to end - and just FYI similar discussions happened during g/gu's release coming off 4u.
This isn't new and happens almost every iteration, especially during generational leaps.
Moron, the reason this got brought up in the first place is b/c they repeatedly tried to refer to me as a "Worldie"
Use your eyes and read the entire conversation. If you're gonna act like you've been following the series longer then someone, you better have some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ knowledge on it.
Also no I literally lived in japan for a decade, it's how I got into the franchise. Likewise, I championed bringing it to the west as soon as I was super invested in it. I was actively on a lot of the JP boards and had JP friends who were super heavily into the series. Most are far more knowledgeable then I am.
I literally brought up the dos pvp community events which are HARDLY catalogued, but congratulations on not being able to read. I'm also aware as to most of the things you mentioned (although the 4u hacking controversies are a new one, do you just mean people being mad at hacking in that game because that's hardly a controversy and just how people react to cheating in every game.)
"Because if you google search Monster Hunter and set the date to 2009 or Prior,"
A ton of what I brought up is post 2009? Operation cherry blossom was about p3rd??? Idk if you know about game releases, but p3rd came out after tri...
Forward 2 (introduced halks) was like 2010-2011? Edit: Yup literally september 2011
Yikes LMAO, better get your ducks in a row before you start trying to criticize someone else for not being knowledgable.
The 4U hacking controversies were a massive one, IDK how you could mention this Operation Cherry thing, but not know about people literally being able to brick people's saves via custom quest values. Folks would make custom quests or modify existing quests, have the rewards give you something that would break the game. It wasnt as widespread as folks were making it out to be in the day, but it taught a LOT of players to pay attention to quest rewards.
Oh yeah I remember the custom quests bricking people - I thought you were more talking about the one-shot hacks that were floating around even back then.
I also remember that a lot of the custom quests were about making the "unknown sea of trees" less painful to grind through for relic weapons/armors. I remember looking into custom quest makers that were literally just available online.
OCB was not just "reddit tier ♥♥♥♥" and had a bunch of groups working to try and convince capcom to port p3rd to the west (this was BEFORE capcom said anything about it being sony, btw.) They thought if we as a community showed enough interest, we would get the game. (For clarification - I already owned the HD version on the ps3. But I wanted people in the west to get it.) The biggest MH podcast at the time was also on board with it, alongside quite a few other creators (including icemannoob btw)
Again, my entire point here is that I'm very aware of these things and was actively part of many of them.
As for the PVP tournaments - there were several held locally in my region and others set up over the internet via an old forum that I don't think exists anymore. I know because I participated in two of them lmao (got knocked out first round on the first and almost won the second)
You bringing up their hours in vtube studio makes you look bad, not them. XD
I stream 140 hours a month and tend to just leave that open even while I'm at work and asleep ROFL, it's really funny to me when people bring it up like it's some sort of own
Like bro I'm sorry I use a piece of software you don't. Please actually focus on the topic at hand and not random ♥♥♥♥.
Oh look another worldie. And yes leaving your pc running for hours on end when you’re not using it IS a waste of energy, idk how it couldn’t be. Great engineer that you are sweetheart. Please send for one of your boytoys like last time lmao.
You literally weren’t even part of it this time sweetie. Once I saw that the guy literally couldn’t comprehend why Monster Hunter was popular was the moment I stopped caring. I love the people that come in to Monster Hunter from World and act like they own the damn franchise.
