All buddy skills only apply to the buddy.
1) Attack UP (S/L), Ranged Attack Up, Piercing Attack UP, as well as Critical UP (S/L) and Health UP (S/L).
2) Pro parry means that your buddy opts to counter attack rather than evading. It does only apply to the buddy.
3) Piercing attacks such as mega boomerang (palico) or Large Shuriken (palamute). Useful? nah
4) stun power 10%ish for your buddy, which may be only useful for a palamute equipping guarding parasol. But considering how often your buddy can stun a large monster, I think it has a very limited effect.
Correction 2) not countering but only blocking.
Palicos do not attack as intended, and unlike palamute's dual bladed chain damage, palicos simply do not cause much damage, so that what I can suggest is equipping Support-Centric skill, which is very useful. Status Attack Up with a paralyze weapon is a default set for my palico.
cool i will give it a try, that will add a layer of strategy in my hunts. I was misusing my buddies until now.
In early game healer will be good however in end game when monster can 1-2 shot you you may use CC so you can hit weak spots more easily.
