Primordial Malzeno advice
Just came back to rise out of morbid curiosity and because I remember the Amatsu update making my main extremely fun to use. I’m working on getting the Primordial armor so that way I can start working on the END end game set but like Jesus. I know this update is what Fatalis was to world but I can’t seem to get through a quest whether it be solo or with randoms or friends without most of us getting two shot. I was just wondering if anyone could give some advice on how to tackle this fight as it seems like poor design, but I’ve been playing through GU lately so I’m not familiar with the speed of Rise anymore. it’s gotten to the point where when I make it back to the monster and catch up with the others, I get hit by his wings and immediately two shot again lmao

Thanks in Advance!

Make the best use of your buffs and environment. Get spiribirds and endemic life, including those which provide defense or power buffs.

Don't rush, or be greedy. As somebody who is new to Primordial Malzeno, it is an unrealistic expectation to get it done effectively. Take 40 minutes if you have to. Your goal is to beat him at any cost. When you're more comfortable fighting him, and when you've beaten him a couple of times, then your clears will speed up naturally.

- When he thrusts with his wing, he will follow up with a wide wing slash.
- When he is on the ground and covers his body with his wings, and charges up, he is going to spiral forward and probably one-shot you.
- When he teleports or jumps into the air and his wings cover his body, he is going to unfold his wings towards the ground and send out a shockwave. Do not roll to the side. I advise rolling backwards.
- When he is in the air and thrusts with his spear-like tail, he will do it once or twice when angry. Expect for it to occur twice to be safe.
- When he is shooting a beam out of his mouth, the explosions that ensue will begin smaller but exponentially grow in size. It is better to roll or run towards his side than to run away.
- When he is almost dead, he will spaz out with a bunch of combos, end with an explosion, and fall to the ground for a good several second opening. It is advised to let him do his combos and only to attack during the opening at the end. He will keep repeating this until you kill him.

These are the main things that I had to get used to.

Good luck.

I mean, the big thing is learn to dodge. Treat it like any other monster, learn it's patterns. Dont get greedy with attacking, it doesn't have a lot of HP all things considered. Really, it's a fight that tests your reaction skills. Also make sure your armor is maxed up in defense.
And if it means anything, Amatsu is the equivalent of Fatalis, Primordial is a step beyond.

I struggled with this fight myself for a while, it boiled down to me not taking the time to bring the right stats to the fight. I ended up farming for a weapon that did solid 'Dragon' damage, I slotted full evade extender, and maxed out armor upgrades. Take time to grab a few health spirals before jumping into the fight and eat a smart meal before hand using a ticket. Outside of that, lot's of dodge and roll. Try to land yourself near the back half of his body before striking. If you are at any ranged distance in front of him, it's not healthy. I died to P Mal 3 times before I eventually got him down.
