I got normal mouse gyro (not mouse joystick) working almost perfectly (DS4)
I came from using a DS4 controller with gyro on world and one of the main things stopping me from playing this game was how hard it was to get gyro working. I recently had a bit of an epiphany and after a bit of tinkering I think I got a really good gyro setup. Here is the link: steam://controllerconfig/1446780/2822862176

I'm aware this probably already exists. Trust me when I say I googled this for hours and couldn't find anything usable. I'm just hoping that even if this is a coincidental copy of someone else's setup that it still helps people enjoy the game more.

How it works
This setup uses a standard DS4 layout with normal mouse gyro since it's imo infinitely better than mouse joystick. My solution to the gyro overriting the right stick camera movement was to also change the right stick to output as a mouse. In order to make the controller's hotbar wheel stay functional, I added an action set it swaps to when L1 is held. This action set disables gyro and changes the right stick back to a normal joystick output. When L1 is released it reverts back to the gyro action set. I found that gyro camera doesn't even do anything when the hotbar wheel is open so I had it disable gyro to avoid possible issues.

Issues
So far I've yet to find any game breaking issues with this controller set up. I'll still list what I've found though.
-The gyro will activate during doggy drifting. Thankfully it seems like the game suppresses camera movement a bit when you do that so it isn't very invasive.

-Swapping tabs on equipment menus can be a bit finicky. I believe this issue was in World too where tapping L2 might cause the mouse to appear and hover over another piece of equipment. The mouse position is apparently saved at least while you're still in that menu so you can just reposition it and it should be fine. Soft trigger pulls also swap tabs without even activating gyro if you're up for that.

-Whoever worked on IG in this game REALLY didn't care to make transitioning from World's IG that smooth so lots of its stuff is moved to R2 now. My solution would be to open the gyro menu on the default action set, click mode shifting, set it to mouse, and set the mode shift button to Right Trigger Full Pull and that's it. Also DO NOT change Always On in the mode shift settings. It already only activates when you press the trigger it doesn't work the same as the normal gyro activator.

-This is less of an issue and more of a confirmation that an issue ISN'T present. I remember aiming and charge side stepping at the same time having issues in another pure mouse setup I used and I'd like to confirm that it's working perfectly fine for me in this setup so go wild bow mains.

I'd encourage anyone who uses this setup to comment any issues they find and/or any solutions. So far the game has felt SOOOO much better after I got this working. I'll upload this to the community controls if there isn't a ton of issues. Hope this helps!
