Remember to backup your save files before the expansion hits!
Specially if you are using mods. You wouldn't wanna lose those 300+ hours of progress.

As long as no one panics at launch/release, nothing bad can happen. You have the save games at Steam cloud (unless you deactivated it) and you can use Windows Restoration too. I personally back them up manually, taking all the forums threads into consideration where people panicked they lost their save games.

More important are the mods. Last time we had the big updates from release version to 3.6.1.1 and then 3.9.0.0 a lot of issues were just simply mod related. Even if people do forget about REFramework or Fluffy, its still there and can and will most likely mess up things.

Culprit number one is always the one you do not expect, like ReShade.

People should be using backup programs like Acronis to both a physical drive and the cloud.

Documents, tax info, music, photos, game data all rotate in the middle of the night.

Acronis is indeed a good one. My favourite in fact for professional backups. For most purposes however, freeware/free services are sufficient as long as you trust the provider.
