How much like the old games is this?

The last game I played in Monster HUnter series was Monster HUnter 4 Ultimate. I got into it back on PS2 and played all the psp entries. I did try World but due to the cutscenes not working refunded so never actually tried the games combat.

So my question is how much like the old games is this entry? I see folk saying this isn't as good as world. But i didn't play World so is this as good as the old PSP games? Or 3ds games?

It feels like 3DS MH X/XX content wise except no Prowler. And if you didn't play MH XX, it's a MH 4U in flashy XD.

It plays exactly like the 3DS ones. There's a little more story to it though that's all, but hunting feels a lot like the 3DS games.
