I'm sure I'm being an idiot. I beat it on console. Why does it feel so much harder on PC? I can get to Ibushi before getting to the final gate, but it seems like he's constantly destroying my installations.

When the cong hits switch to hunter combat instead.
You get massive damage boosts, with Insect Glaive I could out DPS the installations anyways.

Save your hero or whatever units for Ibushi, the earlier rounds should be easy enough that you can just use their damage nukes on the big bad himself.

I also was talking to my friends, and apparently you can shoot the rocks away? That's the attack that screws me.

I believe you can destroy them.
Thing is with said insect glaive it's a free aerial dps full combo and just fed into a dunk for even more free damage.

Yep, that's exactly what you are supposed to do, it does a lot of damage to the monster as well. Splitting Wyvernshot pops them all at once too for massive damage, so save it for when that attack happens.

But even if you don't you can still do it if you just keep hitting the monster. Hunting Signal gives you a massive modifier to your damage, using siege weapons at that point is a waste outside of shooting those rocks you mentioned.
