As for Alatreon, I'll simply say he's higher on my "worst bosses in gaming history" list than Bed of Chaos from DS1. I'm very happy he's been thrown into the garbage can post-Fatalis and he becomes absolutely irrelevant after your first Fatty kill.
He holds the distinction of being the second ever boss I've actually ragequit on, the other being a no-hit run of Monsoon on max difficulty Metal Gear Rising.
ahh, thats intresting to know, i was a kid when i played the first monster hunter game, so the rathlos and how he attacked back then was hard for me to master until after my frist kill then i learned... to this very day i still see red when i see any rathlos and just go ham XD
I've had many fights i didnt like, but one of my greatest skills in any video game is staying alive in scenarios I really should have died multiple times in. I'm good at reading the flow of the fight.
The monster I want to fight the least other than Alatreon is Raging Brachydios, who ALMOST timer stalled me to a mission fail with the Lance. I hate how his entire gimmick is just "hehe floor go boom now" and makes me play hop scotch nonstop. Not fun.
i never had a issue with him but i will admit when he dose that.. i can feel a vain twitching when you avoid right but the game like " haahha no you get hit"
He killed me once because we were fighting in his final phase room before he phased, and so he suddenly went berserk and locked me in with no healing items left without warning.
ahhh that stings.. iv had that happen to me in his fight and when i was a kid against rathlos.. its annoying and frustrating when it happens
Kept kicking my butt in M4U and MHGen due to the wonky hitboxes in the past + the strong poison he had when spinning.
Now, hes more manageable.
same here with the rathlos in monster hunter one.. those hit box's was horrible back then
MH3 - Great Jaggi
All hunters start from scratch. When I was very young this was my first MH game and I couldn't beat it because I hadn't learned yet that button mashing won't work and I had yet to discover "my weapon". Game sat on a shelf for a year or so before I beat the Great Jaggi and the entire MH franchise opened to me from there.
MHFU - Plesioth
That f'n broken brick wall hip check and the fact that it keeps diving into the water. It's not even a hard fight honestly, from the stand point that is has got very little HP, but it is just so incredible annoying and lands BS hits all the time. Dealing with 2 green ones at once was a massive pain. I still pack 2 trap when fighting it, just so I can put this thing in a hole and just wail on it instead of having to fight it much
MHFU - Akantor
This guy was impossible for me when I was young. His attacks do large amounts of damage, and his size made him very challenging. Eventually got the hang of it, got to the point where I finally take little to no damage, and got a full set oh his armor.
Next, Alatreon. I wanted to defeat it as a duo, but ended up soloing. I'm glad I recorded that epic battle. It was 1 AM, I had said "This is the last I'm gonna try", but emerged victorious.
Lastly, Fatalis. I was defeated over 150 times going solo, never tried it in multiplayer. Since it was the last and most dreadful battle, I wanted to put together everything I learned from my 800 hour experience, so I refused to look for guides, posts, videos, all those things. I had decided to do it and discover how to win on my own using the CB. I've played games since 1994, and the battle vs Fatalis was the best and most thrilling one in all my gaming career. It is so that I didn't even want to fight Fatalis again to make its set, I had set it as the last hunt in MHW, closing the story of my in-game character. Never again I installed the game. That fight means a lot to me (:
man respect to you, i had hard times with them too.. but for a frist game monster hunter 1 on ps2 i belive where i enver experianced a game like it before and wow that rathlos messed meh up
Much appreciated! MH is really magical. Since the ps2 era? Wow, you've got stories to tell from so many years...
