Weapons feel slower than in mhw
So I was testing different types of weapons and all of them felt like they did receive a small nerf to attack speed, has anyone else felt that?

Weapon attack speeds will always vary from game to game, so I'm honestly not surprised.

I though it felt a little slow as well. It feels faster on Switch, I don't know why.

Nah i'd say it's snappier than world but still a little slower than 4th gen mh granted i rarely do sheath my weapon in combat because i'm in the school of funlancer so i don't have much experience with weapon draw times so far

Yeah it feels more sluggish and unresponsive than World. It also doesn't help that they straight up nerfed/removed several motions.

Maybe it's the demo, but the game on Switch did not feel sluggish at all and that's coming from a GS main.

Some weapons felt slower, but part of that was just needing new muscle memory.

I've been having issues with the controls. I notice when playing the demo everything just felt off, and I had a lot of moments where the controls would be unresponsive in combat which got very annoying. I went back into world and everything flowed so much better in combat, and the controls were responsive as well so I know its this demo. I hope this is just a demo problem because if this is how the game is going to be, it might be a pass for me.

Some weapons dramatically change in play style and functionality once you get access to all the additional silk bind moves in the full game. Others are more or less the same as they were in the demo. Some weapons are missing their best silk bind moves in the demo, like IG, Lance, CB, LBG, Bow just to name a few.

I noticed that some weapons feel like they have longer animation commitment times, mainly switchaxe. It feels like it takes an extra .2 seconds before I can get control back of my character after certain moves when compared to world. I could be going crazy, could be missing key skills, I am not really sure. It also feels like you can't adjust as much mid attack like you could in world. Once an animation starts, you are just locked into it... I could also just be bad, who knows.

Does it happen to be the Morph animation attack? Because I know back on Switch People used a skill called rapid morph to speed up some of the attacks on switch axe and increase the attack speed,

know what you mean, feels like it takes forever to bring the GS up from the second attack to start charging for the TCS. Have to hit the input a couple of times before the animation starts. :/

Timings definitely different, and controls feel less responsive like you sometimes need to mash the input in several times. Recovery animations also definitely longer before you can evade/attack again. Coming directly from world into the demo feels really odd.

That's because the game randomly drop inputs for unknown reason, this is inherited from switch original, it's even worth on switch due to the poor unstable frame rate which exacerbate the trait further more.

I guess that would explain why my character kept dropping combos I know for a fact reliably worked in World

It is annoying to say the least, even infuriating sometimes, there were many occasions that I 100% sure I will successfully perform a lai spirit slash only end up been hit or even carted because the fxxking stupied system drop my inputs at crucial moments! Now I always smash buttons at crucial moments to make sure I'm not gonna backstabed by the treacherous system!
