Village/Hub Quest Progress

'lo there,

Recently got back into the game mainly to play it in co-op. I noticed Rise changed up things when compared to World, with Village quests (solo) and Hub quests (multiplayer) being entirely separate, at least at a glance.

Does progressing through Village quests lock me out of potential content further down the line (mainly asking because I might do it at a different pace than my co-op partner)? Also, are village quests mandatory for unlocking necessary features or are they mainly meant to be easier hunts through which the game tells its story?

I know there's one dango that you get for completing village, but I don't know if it's locked behind village or if you get it anyway by progressing hub.

The magna-dango or something like that.

No, village doesn't lock you out of anything.

Only thing you need village for is argosy subs I think.

Thanks for the help! Glad to hear there's no locking out of content with the village quests.

One thing ppl don't mention, finishing the village quests (all of them !) unlock a piece of HR gear (helmet call Flame Seal with Critical Eyes).
However, to unlock the last village quest, you will need to finish all the village quests + beat the base game boss (HR 7)
Cannot unlock it by another method.

Flame Seal Armor Design
Sleep weapons for buddies (from the scroll locked in the buddy plaza tree)
