Hm? I consider rampage relaxing. It is a given win. You cannot lose. Or... can you?`
I have made a Rampage Solo tips section over here:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2717340432
I wonder what you are doing that you have such a hard time. Care to elaborate?
only thing i dont like when solo is that sometimes you try to use a cannon and get attacked by like 2 monsters at the same time. that just feels wrong. as the system wasnt designed for that.
♥♥♥♥ ibushi rampages tough. holy crap.
it has the same drop rate as capture but they are much easy to get then req hunts.
You can cart as many times as you want but if you're over 3 carts you just lose out on one award. Generally though people don't cart until the final monster show up and even then it might depend on who it is.
People are chill in rampage too and know what to do. It'll much less of a stress when playing with others.
So far I've never seen anyone getting angry over carts. Because it's still like S rank at the end on most of them.
It's a breeze with other people.
Apex Zinogre and Apex Diablos are way more annoying and actually carts people.
Just summon automated balista at the start and save a spot for iori on the floor.
Summon iori and buddies right when the monsters get there and if monsters get through either hit the gong in the back for the counter signal to finish everything off with your weapon or set up a balista and try to beat them until the first boss comes which automatically uses a counter signal.
During the 2nd wave if you have auto cannons just set them up in the next spots and get ready to use hinoa and minoto on the same spot you used iori and do the same thing, if you didn't use the gong for counter signal before than this is your chance. The most important weapon you can use is a "wyvernfire artilery", once you have this unlocked just put 2 at the last gate and aim them slightly at the gate so that they can hit anything that touches it. I prefer the fireball mode, idk the dps comparison between the beam and the fireball but I have had 0 problems in fireball mode.
Also don't forget to setup your last bomb on an open ground installment. And than that should be all you need to do until the last rampage boss comes out so you can just put up an installment and hit stuff if you want. But when the last boss comes just go back to the base and make sure to go to the 2nd entrance which is the right of the first arena entrance cause that is where the new arena is.
Once you get in there just immediately set up the "wyvernfire artillery" at the gate and aim it at a spot where you will be fighting the monster for extra damage. You can use your summons like fugen here when the boss monster summons extra monsters and just run around until the counter signal comes up to fight again.
so basically the last fight is up to you to kill the boss, but hey... all of the bosses are waaaaay easier to beat in this mode than in a normal hunt.
I know this is a lot ot read but rampage mode is very easy solo, and is the only mode I'd play online cause it isn't likely to get failed but after having a bad experience with a troll I just went back to doing it solo to farm tickets.
Biggest tip is: hit the counter gong ASAP when you fight the final monster. It is a huge DPS boost, and there's really no point in using ballistae/cannons/etc for the first few minutes of the fight, you're just elongating the mission.
Only hunter
No matter what, your gate will take damage, it is a given. Only Ibushi is problematic because it focuses on the gate. The others just stay far from the gate and you will easily complete the rampage.
Really though at the end of the day just do this with others. Join request for 8* rampages almost always fill up quickly and by now people generally know what they're doing. More people means fulfilling the stronghold level requirements a lot more easily too, something you'll struggle to do solo since it doesn't scale the requirements per player.

I managed to figure out what I was doing wrong and I haven't failed a single Rampage since then.
The last part of the video made me wonder if they actually knew what they are talking about...
