PRO tip: your MR can be higher than your HR
I'm MR 159 and HR 30. I bought the game and the expansion and the same time and started Sunbreak just after the main Rise story.

Just throwing this out there, cause it seems some players think you are somewhat "cheating" when you play online with a rank like mine.

Curious How ? Afai when I do MR quest my HR also Increases, but since before touching MR I must do LR and HR that increase my HR, my HR is always on higher end. Even if I continue sunbreak right away. Similar to world, I've seen some randoms on SOS got 3 digits MR but only 2 digits HR.

I honestly have no idea why that is. I'm MR 61 and HR 193. Every MR quest I do seems to give HR experience as well.

Unless you beat base game Rise, you can't even play Sunbreak.
I dont remember if you need to beat Allmother or just regular Narwa to unlock your hunter rank.

If regular: that is literally impossible to actually happen.

If Allmother: there is a possibility

Ah yes. The HR cap still exists for a few quests after the story. The levels obtained with the cap aren't lost, you will get them once you do the HR urgent quests.
I did start MR early as well, but I also did the urgent HR quests whenever I got them.

Neither of those options is correct...
You unlock your HR when you beat Teostra.
Just don't do the Teostra hunt in high rank.

Doesn't matter, whatever you do after HR20 builds up, even if "stagnant"
Once you've done the quest, your HR goes up where it shouldve been.

I would doubt anyone would either skip Chameleos, Kushala, Teostra, Allmother, and Valstrax just to get to Sunbreak and forget that some of their weapons are not unlocked yet.

Edit: and yes, it was "Thunder Serpent" Narwa that unlocks both your HR cap and in order to get to Sunbreak.
But even then, your HR is already HR7+, meaning it's still impossible for MR to be higher than HR.

OP is HR30, meaning all they need to do to disprove themselves is do the multiple urgents afterwards, and poof, their HR is higher than their MR.

But OP, nice discovery in the fact of using the system "HR locked behind certain quests" to fool others, feels like a little fun trolling

This quote right here is the answer to the riddle OP has given:
Do the HR30+ urgent quests and POOF, HR higher than MR again

I have given OP the mad scientist award for this geniuses (ingenuity? Ingenious? Geniuousness?) in trolling his fellow hunters! MAD LAD!

Yeah, i have the urgent Kushala quest from HR. Never bothered.
Pirlo21 Sep 1, 2024 @ 8:07pm
Just a small update: i killed HR Kushala, Teostra and the 2 serpents that you face in the same quest and my rank jumped to HR 351.

So basically to sum up: you can start MR at HR 30 and just go from there. If you want to "unlock" your HR, just go as far as HR Valstrax and you are done.

Now im HR 353 and MR 164.

Actually, you can start right after defeating regular Narwa...
☝🤓 <<<thats me right there...
Anyways, this is what the devs said when Sunbreak was coming out.

And OP, why did you do it? Why did you do the urgent quests?

I've met someone with hr 20, mr 30, and Ar 300. Some people don't care.
