steam is being weird and it won't let me quote for some reason, but 双刀 is dual blades in chinese. they are a fun weapon with a low skill floor.

the other guy saying sleep gunlancer is referring 2 another playstyle. sleep is a status effect, gunlance is a wep. so sleep gunlance just means using a gunlance w the sleep status. he recommends it with bombardier, which is a skill that improves your bomb damage. the gist is you poke and blast with your gunlance until the sleep status kicks in and causes the monster to doze off, then you wake it up with explosions, as the dmg is boosted both by the monster being asleep, and the bombardier skill.

first reply is correct tho. literally any weapon will suit u just fine brotha, they are all equally capable of taking u thru the entire game solo with no problems at all. it just depends on which u think looks coolest and plays the funnest

I use dual blade with balck belt till sunbreak, with demond flight, you can climb up any large monsters include narwa and hermate, easy to tail cutting too.

The easiest weapons to play are hammer and lance

Lance is unkillable but you need some skills/decorations first

SnS is one of my favorite weapon in this game and it's never felt better! Shieldbash-bully monsters, while also having great slash dmg + destroyer oil for tail cutting.

Equip Embolden + Guard and you can even counter almost every attack with that tiny little shield while being able to take potions and other items without sheathing.

Sword and Shield is basically easy mode, also Longword, with all its counter moves.

SnS has the lowest DPS of the game for a reason, is good to learn the monster movement, but is not good as a general DPS weapon.

You obviously free to use whatever the hell you want, but SnS is just a bad suggestion for solo play.

Unless you don't mind hunts of 30 min. to 1 hour, especially on high ranked play, and don't misunderstand I'm not telling people should be doing 5 min. hunts like some rude people in this community.
