Is this any good for other bladed weapons?

Hitting the monster is playing the game so it feels like free 15% affinity, but at the cost of my rampage slot...? Hellion Mode is the way to go for DB, and any weapon with any affinity at all is going to give about 15% anyway, so is this just bait?
