When should I fight Amatsu?

I've done every monster save the Risen Elders, (and P. Malzeno) I think got an 85 Anomoly Rating, but I just can't seem to do enough damage to actually beat Amatsu. I time out by myself, and with a group of randoms doing the urgent quest, we just end up triple carting, even when I play wide range support to try to keep everyone healed. (One or two might be because I'm a bad healer, and I'll take blame for that, but there's literally nothing I can do if you get one shot by his ultimate attack). I've tried Bow, I've tried DB, I've tried CB, and I can't do enough damage. Last time I tried, I broke every part, but still didn't even get the blue skull before time ran out. The only thing I can think of is that I'm supposed to do it with top of the line Qurious Crafted and/or Risen Elder gear or something. That or I keep trying and failing until I eventually beat him, cuz skill issue.

is it really so hard to use a forcaster during his ultimate, if you don't know how to dodge it?

i used the usual rapid pierce 2 lbg without having any issues

you should try a premade team where you stay in the same session and simply retry after failing instead of changing the whole team after every fight but to each their own

I was able to solo it with the GS at anomoly 1 and I'm not some top tier player. So it's definately possible but certainly can be a frustrating fight.

The only tips I can provide outside the obvious are:
-Make good use of the cannons, the can do a lot of damage if you charge them up.
-Bring status effect support characters. I had a car running sleep, a dog running Para and I was running poison.

If you think you do not enough damage, you should indeed get better equipment. When you beat the story boss, your equipment is not good enough for Amatsu. It's that simple. Got to grind for better. There are enough end game builds available.
Oh and for the record, I don't think doing Amatsu with a random group is a good idea. His HP will be over 200k, which is twice as much when compared to doing it solo. If just one of those randoms have weak equipment, the quest is going to fail.

And finally using Araknabuster+ for bow, Rosenehrgeiz for DB, or remove the Stamina skills and add in Guard, Guard Up, and 1 level of Embolden with the Crawling Crusher for my CB build

You have no damage whatsoever, of course you're having trouble. No WeX (cheap to slot in), no crit eye etc. Out of all of the 3 weapons, bow suffers the most because it is the most skill heavy weapon. It doesn't have room for support skills. It's a DPS weapon.

To add on top of that, you should be using R10 armor for Amatsu.

Bro... you dont have a single damage bonus skill on that gear.

Is there a reason why you use a bow as a support weapon?
The bow needs a ridiculous ammount of skills / slots there is no room for support and even then there are better weapons for this like sns or hh

Congrats on getting that far using skills like that. Advises would require a complete revamp of that build. Your best bet is playing with good end game players

I'm just going to assume they got carried by their friends while playing "support". That build in solo is just not going to work at all. I'm not saying there's something wrong with a "support" playstyle, with good coordination it can work.
The reason why they're hitting a wall now is because of the monster health pools getting so large (+30k health per player for amatsu) the damage gap is too big for the other players to carry, or that's what I'm assuming.

And for whatever reason, they are still using rarity 8 gear. Against endgame monsters.
Rarity 10 has more deco slots, more defense and better skills. There's no reason to keep using low rarity equipment.

Amatsu has weakness to dragon damage at his head (25 dragon element) and for all 3 damage types over 45 raw, so weakness exploit can help you to get high affinity pretty fast.
You can use a farcaster to escape his strongest attacks if you are fast enough

WIth a bow you also can choose to use the chaotic gore magala set and equip / or augment kushala blessing in, eat a gourmet fish and super recovery dango level 4, swap your scrolls and you should easily survive his attacks as long you watch your hp bar and reset the dot on you with swapping scrolls.

OK. My bad for trying to be. I wouldn't see my comment as toxic at all. I didn't say "skill issue" or anything of the sort. I made assumptions based on the build and other comments. That's all. If you take that as an insult... well I don't really know what to say, Different interpretations I guess.
Point stands, you got to make better equipment.
I'll add to that if you want to keep playing bow, go search for meta builds. That's the only way you can play that weapon (you can of course use some comfort skills like evade extender).

It's not an insult but facts. You gear it's terrible and without a carry you cant do anything right now. This is the truth nothing more and nothing less. Now, if you want help/tips you are welcome ( we are here for this ).
