We need Monster hunter 3U/4U/GU HD collection.
The 3ds servers have shut down.
These games are worth experiencing as part of the games history.
And its almost guarantied fans will buy them maybe not as many copies as World or Rise but defiantly enough to make it profitable compared to the cost of making a HD port as opposed to making a new game.
Maybe even add a VOL1 and VOL 2 VOL 1 being the PS2/PSP games and VOL 2 the 3ds ones.

Based, agreed, but Capcom blows and probably won't do it.

man i would love to see how people react to 4U and GU, sure there will be some growing pains from new world crowd. But theres a LOT of cool monsters that havet yet made it modern games for one reason or another, Like imagine seeing stuff like Nerscyalla or gammoth for the first time!

Definitely would be great. But we really don't need a 3U port, 4U is just a better game in every single aspect so it's redundant to have both.

But no classic MH ports to PC are going to happen anytime soon, it would just detract away attention from Wilds so it'd be cannibalistic to do. They want to starve people as much as possible before the release, and then have all the attention on it.

GU is already the most accessible old-gen game, ik plenty of people who started with 5th gen then went to GU

If 4U wasn't relegated to 3DS I'd say it is a better entry point than GU, mostly due to the way the game eases you both into the world and the mechanics of the game. GU kinda throws you into the grinder without explaining anything, and showers you with plenty of things from the get go. Which could be an issue for some... less savvy players let's say. Also, just in general it's a more engaging experience due to great characters and general presentation, it's what the game is known for and why many people call it their favourite Monster Hunter after all. It's extremely memorable.

But, it's a 3DS exclusive so... not very accessible in the literal sense of the word. Especially now with their online store being gone. If any classic MH game needs a modern port, it's 4U without any doubt. It's a crime people can no longer legitimately buy it from their store or play it online.

Nintendo has literally nothing to do with this discussion. Why do so many people think Nintendo makes or "owns" all games on their platform...?

why does it matter if its a worse game? they are both completely different experiences, and with their own gimmicks (underwater combat) that people won't get to ever experience otherwise

stories 1 is worse in every aspect to stories 2 and yet they're bringing that back for PC and home consoles, they had basically 0 reasons at all to do this, i cant imagine that theres that many people excited for this game / even realise it exists

IMO if any of the mainline games were worth porting, it would be the specific trio of 3U, 4U, and GU. all are beloved and familiar entries, and none are quite as frustratingly janky and outdated as the older games.
honestly i'm holding out hope that they will bring 3U and 4U to at least the nintendo switch in the future if not other platforms. it annoys me that they aren't already on there lol

I need them to clear up the underwater habitats to make it more navigational.
My brothers, including myself, called me Zoro from OP due to the fact that I kept getting turned around :steamhappy:
Yeah, I had navigation issues

I genuinely dont understand the want for old MH titles to get ported outside of anything but nostalgia.

Personally I think most of the MH titles are all unique experiences in their own right and it's a shame that some of them aren't easy to get ahold of now

I mean, I get it, and maybe it's because I have a hard time replaying games I've already beaten into the ground with playtime, but Monster Hunter does feel like Call of Duty, where a new game comes out almost yearly, and improves mechanically on the previous one, usually. While sure, it'd be fun to head back to Port Taznia and hunt Brachy, I'd rather hunt Brachy in world or a new title. Or have monsters like Ruby Basarios, Tidal Narjarala, or Lagiacrus come back fully fleshed in to a new title.
Tri is probably the only game I'd love to replay, but for Loc Lac and Lagiacrus alone, because outside of that, it's a very empty game.

The difference is that CoD is a multiplayer casual shooter and once everyone moves on the old titles become basically unplayable outside the campaigns or bot matches, plus the feel between the different MonHun games imo are different enough to make each one a unique experience which I can't really say as much for COD. Not to say COD is always the exact same but the different guns and maps to use and play on don't really make a world of difference to me

I mean, outside of 3rd Gen, there isnt much difference outside of weapon mechanics being more simple. 3rd Gen introduced swimming, but that's really the only unique thing. 4th Gen onwards really was just Gens 1+2 but now you have ledges and jumping attacks. Granted, Gen/U has styles, but that's still an actively obtainable game.
