If you want max hp/stamina, you eat. And then if you want to add some extra on top, then you have an option of collecting spiritbirds. IT's the same with attack/defence ones. It's not like we suddenly are missing raw or defence and it now has to be collected, it's just an extra bonus on top. It's an optional mechanic that you can use if you want an easier time, why would you feel like it has to be removed in Sunbreak?
honestly, as old school hunter I miss the fact that you could have max health/stamina just from eating and if you fainted you used max/ancient potions to give max health/stam. now to have a full bar you have to runaround a map for a couple of minutes. don't get me wrong the endemic life is helpful but it artificially extends hunt time, and can be almost mandatory against the ramped up apexes from the emergencies event quest. (for solo hunters) its still a fun game, just that max and ancient potions are horribly nerfed.
For the third time THIS VERY THREAD I am telling you Ancient Potions fill up the exact same health they always have. Spiribirds are ALL extra, bonus health. The only quests that expect you to go and get spiribirds are the Emergency event quests, which have monsters that can one-shot you.

95% of players can ignore spiribirds with no consequences.

You guys actually go your way to grab birds? Isn't that just more like a trap to waste time in a hunt?

All it takes is one hit from certain monsters to cart you and that's using endgame gear.

And that's, what, around 5% of the content? You don't need that much HP in a hunt.

But as old school monster hunter you should appreciate this when looking at it as preparation

There's only a non legit way. Cheat or use mod that cheat.

Beyond that, don't rely on HP and learn monster's pattern so you can dodge or guard or simply move out of the way. If you kill a monster many many times, you eventually know how to react and not be scratched.

Permabuffers were an interesting idea at first. I still like them to some degree, but I think they make you gather way too many in total. I usually play Multiplayer and I feel guilty when I decide to spend 3-5 whole minutes running around grabbing birds because I might die if I don't do it on some difficult fights. Hopefully they understand that carting is worse than gathering birds all day while they're busy fighting without me.

I don't feel like the fights were designed to be done without any of the bird buffs... especially since some weapons like Dual Blades feel a lot less fun to play when your stamina bar is so much smaller. They obviously want you to collect some. I guess the idea is to give players an option for extra preparation if they are too scared of the monster to go in unprepared

There's a mod you can get on Nexus that will spawn a super bird for you at the beginning of each quest.

Well then take gathering the birds like preparation in older MH games
its not the same, preparing tons of ancient potion in 12 hours, spend few minutes gather buff bird to hunt a monster is different,i can have my ancient potion in my pack and use it then go hunt monster directly, its like you ready to kill someone in a war,but you need to spend few minute gather material and make a bullet proof vest, just kind a sad ancient potion not work anymore.

And that is fine and proper approach.
Not everyone is speed runner, this is a game, not a job, you don't need to be super efficient, because no one will take the game away from you.

If you feel like you're not having fun without being as fast as possible, then sorry, there is no workaround here, you need to get good enough to not need birdies.

Yes, and it also fills up THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF STAMINA in both games.

How hard is this to understand? The maximum HP and Stamina in Rise is WAAAY higher than in world when you have the final petalaces equipped. They are not the same. Please, try to use your brain.

Wrong analogy
You're not in a war, you're a hunter
Hunters work slow and methodical and don't just run up to their prey to blindly bash on it
So bird gathering is preparing

Bird gathering is such a stupid thing to do, considering that it is just an extra thing to make your playtime looks longer.

I can't find a single reason how people can defend bird gathering. Older MH had none of such nonsense as deliberately requiring you to waste time just for the sake of "preparation", apart from getting food buffs/ soaking in onsen for max HP/ stamina, those can be done quick anyway.

For preparation, it made sense to collect collect materials for cool/ hot drinks because collecting items are already part of the core gameplay, and most of the time cool/ hot drinks are situational. Most things required in hunt (in old games, its hot/ cold drinks, whetstones, nets, pickaxes) are even sold in shop so you don't have to do the gathering yourself. With the bird buffs, you deliberately waste your time collecting birds at late game so that you don't get one shot by the monsters. Extra health is great, but is no need for the inflated HP system.

You prepare everything you need at base, you go out and fight. Hope future MH ditches this bird gathering stuff and keep it that way.
