95% of players can ignore spiribirds with no consequences.
All it takes is one hit from certain monsters to cart you and that's using endgame gear.
And that's, what, around 5% of the content? You don't need that much HP in a hunt.
Beyond that, don't rely on HP and learn monster's pattern so you can dodge or guard or simply move out of the way. If you kill a monster many many times, you eventually know how to react and not be scratched.
I don't feel like the fights were designed to be done without any of the bird buffs... especially since some weapons like Dual Blades feel a lot less fun to play when your stamina bar is so much smaller. They obviously want you to collect some. I guess the idea is to give players an option for extra preparation if they are too scared of the monster to go in unprepared
Not everyone is speed runner, this is a game, not a job, you don't need to be super efficient, because no one will take the game away from you.
If you feel like you're not having fun without being as fast as possible, then sorry, there is no workaround here, you need to get good enough to not need birdies.
That pretty much is a cheat.
How hard is this to understand? The maximum HP and Stamina in Rise is WAAAY higher than in world when you have the final petalaces equipped. They are not the same. Please, try to use your brain.
You're not in a war, you're a hunter
Hunters work slow and methodical and don't just run up to their prey to blindly bash on it
So bird gathering is preparing
I can't find a single reason how people can defend bird gathering. Older MH had none of such nonsense as deliberately requiring you to waste time just for the sake of "preparation", apart from getting food buffs/ soaking in onsen for max HP/ stamina, those can be done quick anyway.
For preparation, it made sense to collect collect materials for cool/ hot drinks because collecting items are already part of the core gameplay, and most of the time cool/ hot drinks are situational. Most things required in hunt (in old games, its hot/ cold drinks, whetstones, nets, pickaxes) are even sold in shop so you don't have to do the gathering yourself. With the bird buffs, you deliberately waste your time collecting birds at late game so that you don't get one shot by the monsters. Extra health is great, but is no need for the inflated HP system.
You prepare everything you need at base, you go out and fight. Hope future MH ditches this bird gathering stuff and keep it that way.
