Sword and Shield is driving me insane
Alright, serious talk here.

Why the heck has EVERY SINGLE weapon model clipping issues when the weapon is on your back?
the way the Sword is placed makes it ALWAYS clip through your shield, which looks godawful.

Who looked at this and said: "yeah, this is fine, ship it to live" ??

the only 2 weapon skins for SNS that i am using are Mizu and the ninja sword, and that is because they dont have a shield. (i pretend i'm blocking/punching the monster with my artificial steel fist)

Anyone else bothered by this?

It's because it was made for switch. A handheld portable console platform device for gamers all around the world to enjoy games while on the go.

Or it could be the fact that every monster hunter game has had the sword clip through the shield when it's on your back and has nothing whatsoever to do with it being a switch game.

Oh look. My silver los sns clipping through my shield in World.

It's a shame, SNS' s already not the flashyest weapon, and it gets bogged down by this as well, looks atrocious really.

I don't believe Capcom considers the game's target audience to be the sort of people to mind clipping, and I doubt they even considered it a problem. This is a series where people have had all kinds of mismatched armor and things like that for a long time, and I'm just thankful the layered armor system is present in any form.

It doesn't personally bother me, this isn't a series I'm playing for immersion and realism, just the gameplay of it. It's totally valid that it bothers you though, a friend of mine has similar reactions to clipping models

Isn't it kind of a performance issue, too? If you want to eliminate clipping entirely, every item and armor piece would need some kind of collision detection constantly. With all the animation, that could be kinda demanding I imagine.
