GU or its community have nothing to do with this, explain how it's a cheat to see information you can already see and how using it makes people toxic. Support your assertions. You're just saying random things now.
P.S. I like how "it's not about elitism" but you wish certain people wouldn't be able to play multiplayer.
Edit: Nevermind I don't care. This is a shining example of someone with zero supporting arguments against mods that don't change gameplay at all. He just wants other people to play the way he does and do things like he does and anything else is incorrect.
Capturing something is also a form of hunting.
Hunting is not and does not exclusively mean kill. Not sure why people seem to think this.
ofcourse i dont want cheaters to play mp. if thats some kind of elitism to you, so be it.
i also already said how mods like these make the game a more toxic environment. ppl are just rushing to the finish line. they try to out dps others and yes it has an effect on other players in the hunt. lets say the monster goes to sleep and the bow player can see that it only has 50hp left, so he shoots it once and it dies. otherwise the group could have set up a strong wakeupattack and, you know, used more of the games mechanics / things that make it special.
english isnt my first language, so im having trouble getting deeper into it. i can only repeat myself. monster hunter is getting less and less about hunting and moves more towards a boss killing dps rush. this gets worse through such mods. yes, there are already some features, that give you a small part of the information, that a healthbar does. that doesnt make healthbars okay to me.
its cool to meet someone, who can tell by experience, when a part of the monster might break and when it'll die, its just boring, to meet someone, who can just see hp values of maybe not only the monster, but on every single bodypart.
stuff like calling out the last hit on a monster is fun, when its experience based and its stupid, when you have to expect, that the one doing it, just is a cheater.
the reason im talking about other mh games like mhgu, is because there are no mods and you get less information. i think that is part of the reason for a much less rushing / toxic community.
i guess this is just another thing where people think differently. healthbars in a game that doesnt want you to see the exact health of the enemy are a clear cheat to me and many others.
You and also many others might disagree and thats okay. OP was asking about peoples opinion about health bar mods and this is mine.
TLDR: i dont care if you cheat, but i wish people wouldnt join multiplayer when doing so.
2. You haven't explained how it's cheating, or how mods change anything, players already want to out-DPS each other cos that means monsters die faster... Most people don't actually care when a monster goes to sleep in this game, whether by Status or limping. You've explained but your own romanticised version of what they game *should be*.
3. Monster Hunter has had speedrunners since the very first game. It's always been a DPS race because you're supposed to kill or capture monsters before they kill you. I don't think we're playing the same game. Your romantic version of it at least doesn't sound appealing or fun. And again, you haven't explained how someone seeing numbers they can already see changes anything and yet you call it cheating.
4. The only people who keep track of every part and all the damage that's been done to it are speedrunners who already race to have the most DPS possible, the craziest most niche builds specifically to do what you don't want people with a DPS meter or a health bar to do. You've just contradicted yourself. Tell me something, how can you tell when someone is using a mod vs someone who isn't? Are the psychic? Because a person with innate knowledge of the game's systems in the way you're describing is no different than a mod user. You're just pushing a romanticised version of a game that doesn't exist. Again.
5. MHGU has the most ardent speedrunner community in the series, more than World/Iceborne for sure. Those people have datamined the hell out of that game and for your information, there are mods and cheats for GU and even 4U. On Switch they're even better than they could be on 3DS. Just goes to show you don't know as much as you think you do, about anything apparently.
6. Explain why it's a cheat. The game not only lets you "see" the healthbar by giving you auto-shoutouts but it also shows you when a monster is at 15% through the icon on the UI, World had the heart monitor, and 4U and GU have Palicos which tell you when the monster's weak enough AND the capture skill for paintballs. The game lets you have this information if you want it, every game in the series since that skill was implemented has wanted you to have that information if you want it. It's not about people thinking differently, you're demonstrably and objectively wrong.
After all this you never explained how it's a cheat, saying something is a cheat is a definitive statement, not a statement of opinion. Seeing health is already available in the game's systems via VARIOUS means, you're literally incorrect in saying that the game doesn't want you to see this and this has been available since Capture Master(I think it's called) was introduced. None of your points explained anything, you just narrated this fictional version of the game that simply doesn't exist.
In other words; I should stop using my controller, it lets me move my character, which the game lets me do if I want to, but I shouldn't because it's cheating. I'm going to turn off my UI as well, it lets me see my health, stamina and the monster status, which the game lets me look at if I want to, but I shouldn't because it's cheating. Anyone playing or saying differently is a cheater.
Amazing. That's the last of my rambling here.
I think you've been playing the wrong game all this time, friend, and dictating how other people should play Monster Hunter no less. Tsk tsk.
I'd understand if they were against it, but they really don't care from the looks of it. Their attitude seems to be "sure go ahead"
Maybe capcom themselves don't care.
as long as it doesn't affect others its a non issue what people do with their games
since mhw came to pc capcom already said they don't really care what mods you use, its your experience after all
I don't use mods myself, but I don't care if others do as long as it doesn't disrupt the game in any significant way.
Capcom is okay with modding, so this is unfortunate for players like you who have an issue with it. Good luck in your future endeavors.
Also not sure why you continue to respond to this community if it bothers you so much.
