Not a mainline title
am I missing something
Really the numbered Monster Hunter games stopped at 4 Ultimate if I recall.
"Monster Hunter Rise is an action role-playing game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Switch. It is the sixth mainline installment in the Monster Hunter series and was released worldwide in March 2021."
Just one of many things
Yeah, in all reality the numbered scheme is fairly worthless past 4U
You are correct. They did away with numbered titles. But people still like to refer to them as such, like World being MH5.
I'd say the aspect that might make it a spinoff was it was initially released on a side-console, being the 3DS. Though it becomes weird on how to classify Generations Ultimate, considering it was on a main console.
Mh world had aiden and a some motions to older titles and can be considered cannon / mh 5
Rise doenst have anything cannon to the main title for now ( maybe for sunbreak ? )
