game is easy AF coz on how much help the game give you.
This isn't even considering that Rise has a set of village quests that function as the game's tutorial. Village is where monsters have less than half the health and deal lower damage than comparable monsters in the hub, which is where the bulk of the actual content is for LR/HR. The tutorial is likely where the "Rise is too easy" complaints came from, because players going from Iceborne to the next game's low rank probably would be taken aback by quests even easier than low rank (even though that was their purpose).
Even with the lowered damage in relation to hunters, Rise monsters move significantly faster than monsters from World or previous generations where they had to stop and turn before attacking, lol. This makes for a solidly challenging adjustment period regardless of damage.
Then you reach Sunbreak, where the base MR monsters are solid introductions, but Anomaly monsters are *even faster* when enraged, an attack and move speed bonus very similar to Frenzied/Apex monsters from MH4U. This is where the "Rise is too hard" complaints began to surface.
Rise is just pretty easy over all, though I never played Sunbreak.
So I don't think this is accurate at all, and really, dramatically oversells the difficulty of MHW's HR lol.
Behemoth wasn't difficult, and Extremoth and Ancient Leshen were challenging, yes, but I would argue they legitimately have nothing on old gens when you could hunt Fatalis event quests and he would cart you- dead from 100% HP after eating- by simply turning and moving his tail. That was the reality in older games. Maybe my perspective on Extremoth isn't so bad since we farmed the Drachen set the first night with no fails and then I resorted to helping noobs clear it for a month or so, but it wasn't really hard at all, especially since on PS4 people communicated back then when they needed help, lol.
We haven't had that difficulty for several generations now, but to say MHW HR was harder than MH1, Dos, or PSP FU is a laughably uninformed take. I'd also argue that AR300 (I guess technically 281+ for Hazard) or SI Risen Shagaru or Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax are harder than MHW's HR, as well, but I wouldn't be able to convince you of that since you haven't played it, of which I can't blame you since you clearly hated the base game.
MHW might not have been a mistake, but Capcom trying their hardest to get streamers and "Influencers" to go back to World just reminded everyone of all the 5th gen garbage that follow those losers as well the rest that World brought in. Shame, because there's a lot of good players that started in 5th gen.
I play games for the actual gameplay, you play them to follow trends and graphics. We are not the same.
