MONSTER HUNTER RISE

Steamdeck performance
Anyone else noticed performance issues since the last few patches since the DRM was added?

I used to get fairly consistent 45fps with a mix of setting on the deck, now it's dropping as low as 30 fps with those same settings

Okay changed over think it helped a bit, but had to turn off dynamic shadows and equipment shadows, to get a more consistent 60.

Glad it helped.

My full settings for reference.

Main Menu, Advanced Graphic Settings (before loading save):
Dynamic Shadows: Off
Equipment Shadows: On
Processing Reduction via Model Swapping: On
Mesh Quality (Level of Detail): High

In Game Display settings:
Resolution: 1280x800
Frame Rate Cap: 60
V-Sync: On
Advanced Graphic Settings:
Image Quality: 100%
High Res Textures: On
Texture Filtering: High
Ambient Occlusion: On
Shadow Quality: Average
Anti-Aliasing: FXAA
Variable Rate Shading: On
Foliage Sway: On
Motion Blur: Off
Lens Distortion: Off
Vignette Effect: Off
Depth of Field: Off
Film Grain: Off
Filters: Off

Playing with no TDP Limit or GPU Clock Frequency override in Steam Deck settings should be absolutely fine at 60fps. I have however been playing around with those settings and last night tried turning on Half Rate Shading, setting TDP Limit to 8 Watts, and GPU Clock Frequency to 800. Haven't done extensive testing, but I noticed no difference in multiplayer hunts, even when 3 monsters showed up at once.

Happy hunting!

capcom ruined the recent versions with enigma drm, its well documented, no wonder why reviews dropped from 80% to 20% since enigma. Ur not alone here, only solution is downgrading to a previous version which requires the use of steam console and specific instructions.

Solid 60fps on my end, even undervolted. Most settings on max except motion blur turned off, no vignette/lens distortion, and shadows on medium.

Thanks again, think I am using the same settings I did do a double hunt and saw a drop down to 55 a few times but nothing too major.

Think I am on the same settings but equipment shadow off

Happy hunting
