monsters take to long to die...
Ok, before you kill me read, I LOVE THE GAME, but I don't fully understand some of the mechanics, is there something I'm doing wrong? I use a bow and it really took me around 15 to kill the main one by one "beasts" of the first island one, it is entertaining but at the same time it becomes monotonous, in world it was something faster to do, even with the slinger executions, here is something similar or am I doing something wrong or Is it normal in this series of games that it takes so long?

what monster ? what rank ? are you using coating properly ? are you hitting weak point ? are you using the correct element against the monster ?

if it's not anomaly then well... prepare for x2 monster HP. 15 mins hunt for Lv100+ anomaly is common tho

First, It means you have low budget build and in this game, bow is the second best weapon with high dps rate. It is very strong with elemental builds but never use raw build or status build when using bow. Use spread type elemental bows because they are better than other type of bows.

Second, for switch skills use these: Dodgebolt, absolute power shot, stake trust, aerial aim, bolt boost. This combination of switch skills can do a lot of damage to monsters if you know how and when to use them.

Third, Dogebolt, you need to learn how to take advantage of this skill because it has long iframe (well not very long but it is more effective than evading) and it makes you invincible to any monsters attacks and you can shoot arrows after you pull it off.

Fourth, know where to hit. Each monsters in this game have their own weak spots. For example, Valstrax, keep hitting its head when it's not provoked and when it's provoked, hit its forelegs.

Bow is strong, very strong, 15 minutes in hunts is like too long for bow mains, we usually end the hunts in 3-5 minutes if there's only one monster and 5-8 minutes if there are multiple monsters.

Don't listen to the people above about the times, they're full of it. When you're starting out in your first Monster Hunter, taking 15-20 minutes for the early monsters in the game is perfectly normal. It'll get a lot faster as you get better at the game and understand better how it all works.

For starters if you haven't done so, it might be useful to watch some quick bow tutorial videos. Most of your time reduction will come from experience though.

Thanks, it seems like you're the only one who understood me, I tried watching videos then.

The problem with bows is that they generally start out pretty weak, but become very powerful towards the end, once you get the proper talismans and armor sets.

Most of the time you'll need to stay in melee range, especially with close range coatings, so try to keep some stamina in reserve for dodges.

Right now I'm doing a bow only run in Monster Hunter World, and at the start it took me a bit to get going, and i managed to reach iceborne not too long ago, so now I can focus on building my proper sets and weapons.

I'm planning to do a bow only run in Rise after I finish my World run.
