shrapnel bowgun build?

anyone here mess around with trying to make shrapnel viable as a main ammo? i mostly just use it for triggering my wyvernblast on monsters, but i see there are some guns with rapid fire on shrapnel.

It isn't a viable ammo. It has some uses tho, like... Rampage... and like... the Zinogre and Khezu Event Quest in HR...

Other than that, it's pretty much useless, but you can use it alongside Spread Ammo for those moments when the monsters is a little bit far, when you're using HBG charging Spread is way more useful in that situation.

I don't use LBG that much, but for what I remember the Barroth LBG was the best Shrapnel LBG with RF Lv2, If you have a Spread armor set, you can use that, just remember not to use Ballistics Lv3 because it does nothing with Spread and Shrapnel.

totally useless. If what you want is a braindead ammo, sticky outclasses it in every way

Can use it to trigger blasts of sticky wyvern mines on monsters, racks up some solid damage. But i would stick to spread as a primary ammo type. It is viable, just not as much focused damage as spread shot.
